Bledsoe had his moments in this game... But Parcells was half way out to the medowlands...

I realized how lucky the pats fans are not having Bleedslow as our quarterback anymore

man its like day and night

look Peyton is a great quarterback
Eli is fair are you kidding this guy has no chance he will go back to pre game 17 for sure

Panthers vs Patriots SB38 will be on later tonight.

I was at that game and I forgot that we had a 14-10 lead AND stopped the packers twice. But the Patriots were never able to extend that lead.

Watching this reminded me of how angry I was at Bledsoe for throwing those 4 picks.

He threw FOUR in that game??? I totally forgot that stat. What a different game it could have been if they knew how to cover Desmond Howard.

This was back when Bledsoe could still complete passes throwing off his back foot -- all arm.

Wish we'd kept Curtis Martin, he was wasted with the Jest.

I watched the 1/2 hour version this morning. I know people get pissed about Matt Light not being solid all the time, but WOW...Max Lane. I had forgotten how much he just sucked.

Did he catch a single pass? Unless you are talking about the KO return.

I was there as well, you are right - but, still, we had overcome all of that, got to within 6, had the momentum and then it happened - desmond howard.

Remains my single worst moment, ever - won't ever feel that way with BB & Brady & Co.

That and PRIOR to Howard's back-breaking KR TD, the Pats had the Packers' DL gassed.

You talk about how momentum is the biggest factor in any game.

I'm going to watch this because let's face it: we've been spoiled with this Patriots team as it is today, and looking back on the Bledsoe days makes you appreciate this Patriots run even more. At least it does for me. I had fear heading into SB 31...I've had nothing but optimism with all the Patriots SB's after that, including against the Rams. I had confidence because we almost beat them in Foxboro earlier that year. There is a scary parallel between that and the Giants, but that's where it ends. There has never been a better team than the '07 Patriots and next Sunday will solidify that.

I watched it again earlier in the day. I loved the guy at the time and still appreciate him but after 8 seasons of Tom Brady I find it almost unbearable to watch Drew Bledsoe. His mechanics were absolutely terrible and constantly got him into trouble.

Not trying to rip Drew, just thankful for what we are blessed with now.

Those four picks were misleading, I'm pretty sure at least one if not 2 were in garbage time. Desmond Howard was the back breaker, and the d wasn't all that great either, it's not fair to blame Drew for that one.

Only 1 pick was in garbage time(to end the game, since the packers kneeled after the pick)

I remember how stoked I was when we scored and went running to the bathroom. I remember listiening to the Packers fans go nuts and I was wondering what was going on. I didnt get to see the Desmond return live, and Im glad I didnt. Still, you leave to take a pee and everything is looking good. You come back, and the game turned for the worst. bummer.

I does make you appreciate what we have experienced as fans since 2001.

Another "interesting" thing about that game. Our secondary was so slow! Those 2 touchdown passes saw first Otis, then lawyer and Big play clay left in the dust.

Bledsoe was living off Play Action through the whole first quarter, after that the Packers caught on , and that was it for Drew... The one pass to Jefferson intercepted by Prior was one of the nails in the coffin, but Desmond Howard won that game for the Pack...

Brett Farve as great as he is , is not in the same class as Brady, , he had a nice game, but the next super bowl, and other games in the clutch, Farve pulls a Bledsoe and disaappears...

I was at that game too. We could have won. Bledsoe was horrible for the most part. Still, if you watch the replay, Vinatieri clearly gets clipped on the Howard kickoff return. I think Green Bay barely moved the ball in the second half. Had the refs made the call, it could have been a 6 point game with the momentum on the Pats side.

While the outcome still hurts, I still have to admire the talent the 96 squad had:

Keith Byars - guys that big shouldn't be be able to run like that

CuMar - he really was great for us

Bledsoe - his unique combination of a rocket-powered arm and severe tunnel-vision left him with only two kinds of passes; awesome and utterly stupid.

Glenn and Jefferson - This was Morgan/Fryar part 2. Too bad it didn't last.

Ted Johnson - What a beast. Forgot how quick he was back then.

Ben Coates - One of the best, but very rare - he could run block, pass block, and catch.

That's pretty unfair if we're talking about Bledsoe in the mid 1990s. He was really really really good back then.

He regressed a lot under Carroll.

Put it this way: after Brady leaves, we'll be very lucky to have a QB the caliber of Bledsoe-95-96 take over the reins. He was excellent.

I'm pretty sure that the pick at the end of the first half was in a hail mary situation. Two of the picks really hurt. The others were desperation throws that the Packers just knelt on.
