This is pretty much how i see it going, with Ryan at #1. If players fall in this order, IMO the Pats will trade up to #5 with KC to take C. Long, costing them the Raiders 3rd. KC could just as easily take Clady at #7 as #5. KC knows the Jets won't take another OT in the top 10.

Apparently the boys at PFW missed Sedrick Ellis last night and all week exploding plays and mauling anyone that got in his way, didn't they. Sedrick Ellis will not get past the Chiefs at #5 and may go higher.

On another note, Rogers-Cromartie is the real deal, if the Pats want to trade down with him in mind in the bottom half of round 1 or top of round 2, I'm all for it.

Whether the 1st DT off the board is Ellis or Dorsey, right now this is pretty much how the top 10 will shake out IMO. They are almost the same player, though I happen to like Ellis more. If Ellis is the 1st DT off the boards, Dorsey will probably drop past #7, and vice versa.

If the draft follows this mock I say trade up to #5 and get C Long.

IMO, the Chiefs are more desperate to get help on the off. side of the ball not the def. Also, don't rule out a QB being taken by the Chiefs - they can't seriously think Croyle will be their future?

I don't know, DT is a position that usually doesn't last long. As of now I expect Dorsey and Ellis to both be gone before our pick. And need or not, if one of them is there at #7 I wouldn't be at all surprised if we took him. Top DT are just too hard to get.

everyone says the jets will take chris long or vernon gholston if they're there - if sedrick ellis is around at pick #6 theres no way the jets don't take them. DeWayne Robertson is a good player but not at all a good fit as a nose tacke - ellis would be a beast for them

Do you think he has the body type to put on 20 pounds and become a 2 gap NT?

Watching the senior bowl thats exactly what Mayock said. While its more binding now that both Miami and the Jets are running the 3-4 and both drafting ahead of us...Ellis was totally unblockable with all star caliber college players. I think he can play the NT, and because of this Miami will take him first overall. This sends a domino effect down the line affecting the whole draft.

I think the Rams will take Dorsey or Ellis at #2. They could use help on the OL too but I think the two DT will grade out higher than J. Long.

He had a great game, but give that oline three weeks together and he would not have the same game.

Didn't Winconsin CB Jake Igewoneu blow out his knee in one of those predraft spped camps?

Yep. Didn't he also have serious legal problems, involving felonies?

Yea, I forgot about that. I don't know why either, as I told someone else about last month...

Jack Ikegwuonu's trial date has been pushed back again, yet the Illinois prosecutor handling the case said the slow pace of the case against the University of Wisconsin football player is not out of the norm for her jurisdiction. Ikegwuonu, who recently declared for the NFL draft, had been scheduled to stand trial Monday in Sycamore, Ill., on charges of residential burglary and criminal trespass. But his defense attorney, Deborah Schafer of Rockford, had a trial scheduled in another county and received a delay to March 24. Ikegwuonu has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which are related to his arrest Nov. 25, 2006. He and his twin brother, Bill, allegedly broke into an apartment in DeKalb, Ill. -- where Bill attended school at Northern Illinois and played defensive back for the football team -- and tried to steal an Xbox. If convicted of residential burglary, a Class 1 felony in Illinois, Jack Ikegwuonu faces a minimum of four years in prison and a fine of up to $25,000. Stephanie Klein, the assistant state attorney who is trying the case, said today that cases of this nature typically take 18 months to two years to get resolved. - Adam Mertz, The Capital Times

We'll see what happens. If he gets cleared of the chargers, or the case is dropped (for whatever reason), then I could see his being a late round option.
