It's the Super Bowl, been a long standing tradition to have a wager on the game for entertainment purposes. I don't want to delve too deeply into a gambling related topic, because that's not really the target audience of the board, but I'm curious if anyone has some money on the big game?

I will cash in pretty well with an outright win, those big spreads are crap shoots, I invested in a New England Super Bowl future a few weeks ago at around -130 odds.

$300 on NE covering 20.

Adjusted point spread? Nice. That figures to pay what 2-1 or something? I didn't have the sack to give the points, and being a total homer I took my chances with a regular SB future.

Almost 3-1. The spread is at 11.5 right now. I just dont have any confidence on the Giants, despite their recent run. Take away the garbage time and special teams scores, and the last game would have been a rout, in NY. On a fast field like this? I just dont see the Giants putting on much of a game. If I win, it pays for my recent trip to NE.

What were the odds given for NE to win the Superbowl prior to the season?

I got about $3000 on New England winning straight up....plus whatever I spend on souvenirs.

I'm looking for some bets along the lines of the first quarter spread stuff like that. It's a lot easier to drop $500 on NE being up by 4 at the end of the first than winning by 13.

I never bet on the Pats. I just feel it's bard karma. That said, if I was a betting man I'd say it's unlikely the Pats cover the spread.

If NE wasn't my team, I'd hedge my straight up bet. Quite frankly though I just don't think the Giants are going to win, so I'd consider dropping $500 at 4.3-1 to be kind of a waste, even with it providing some security.

What method are you guys using to put a wager on the game? INternet?? If so, what website.. Any recommendations??

There's a bunch out there. I'm not sure if we should be promoting that sort of thing (specific sites) on the Message board.

Yeah I wouldn't feel comfortable with doing so either. Just make sure whatever you end up doing is a place with good reviews, there are places that provide reviews out there.

I think you be good if you said if you had a good experience or not from a site.. But if you feel otherwise, PM me.. I'd be really interested..

Mcsully, your pm seems to be disabled.

I don't like watching games with people that have bet on spreads. They don't cheer at the right times. Their perspective on the game is skewed to make them just not fun to watch with. If they bet straight up no points given to either team, that's fine.
