Sorry if tgis has been posted already - I hadn't seen it...

Story Here
""That's not to say the Giants can't overcome these negative statistics. After all, last year the Colts had the worst run defense and the worst scoring defense of any Super Bowl champion. And the year before that, the Steelers became the first team to win the Super Bowl as the sixth seed.

However, there are a couple of major differences between those teams and this Giants squad.

First, each of those teams struggled in the regular season because of a specific injury to a player who was in the lineup for the playoffs (Bob Sanders for the Colts, Ben Roethlisberger for the Steelers). The Giants don't have a specific player whose absence was responsible for their regular-season struggles.

Second, those teams faced a different quality of opponent in the Super Bowl. This season's Patriots are not the 2005 Seattle Seahawks or the 2006 Chicago Bears. That may be the biggest difference of all."

LOL at Giants

I am not overlooking the giants for one bit.

The Pats were as big as an underdog to the Rams as the Giants are today. Did that mean the Pats sucked?

The Rams totally gave no credit to the Patriots. This Patriots team gives all kinds of credit to their opponent that is a huge differents

And the Patriots are one of the best teams to make the Super Bowl. :)

Anything can happen, but I like this match up.

the 2001 pats were coached by BB .the 2007 giants are not. thats the biggest difference and what matter the most when comparing the 01 pats and 07 giants .

I am not overlooking the giants for one bit.

What does it matter if YOU overlook them or not? As long as BB and the Pats players don't we're all set. That leaves us to be able to call it what it truly is...Patriots vs. The Weak Sisters of the Poor in SB42.

It is what it is. Blowout city coming up on Feb 3rd.

It's the biggest reason why I've been surprised with how much love the Giants have been getting. They went 10-6 in the NFC. Maybe they're not a historically bad superbowl team, but they aren't an impressive one either.

NE has just had the second undefeated season in the Superbowl Era, has both the best coach and quarterback in the game (maybe ever), and is the team anyone would pick to win a game in the 4th quarter if their life depended on it.

Oh, and the game is being played in a dome. It's an absolute mismatch.

The Pats were as big as an underdog to the Rams as the Giants are today. Did that mean the Pats sucked?

No, they were not. The Rams were a great team but they weren't undefeated, didn't have a coach and QB being discussed as the greatest ever, and didn't have three recent championships. If the Patriots are a perfect 10 the Rams were a 9.

The Patriots were 12-4, won their division, and had a bye. The Giants are a 10-6 wild card team.

The Pats were very big underdogs. The Giants are huge underdogs.

2000 giants were awful, but the worst team toe ever play in a SB had to be the 94 chargers

Nope. The Giants sucking has nothing to do with the Pats or the Rams. It has to do with the Giants. They are a much better team without Tiki and Shockey, but they still suck.

I can honestly say, I picked the Giants to beat Tampa, Dallas and GB. But, I also think each of those teams has at least one serious flaw, if not more. the Pats don't have a flaw.
This was an interesting article to read, I didn't know that the Giants turnover stat was so bad. That was one part of the game where SD really had a strength, and it showed. But I expect TB and Moss to bust out.

I always thought Shockey was overrated anyway. He used to disappear in the late going of games, at least the ones I saw.
