Jacobs didn't seem upset with the Patriots' style.

"I don't think they're dirty," he said Thursday. "They're aggressive."

Giants linebacker Kawika Mitchell went even further. He said Patriots running back Heath Evans rescued him when he sprained his left knee while it was pinned under a pile of players.

"He pulled me out of the pile and probably prevented more serious injury to my knee. I look forward to talking to him and saying 'thank you,' " Mitchell said. "That's good sportsmanship."

Pats are dirty, Pats cheap-shot, etc.

Naturally this little quote gets buried in the media pile, but I think it says a lot about Evans (and the team), who has done a lot of great things for us this year.

no one cares about heath bar :-(

its a good point, just nothing to argue about:D

I certainly care about Heath, he's been a great pickup. Thanks for the article. Nice board name by the way, that was the funniest and most clever show on TV ever.

HEATHHHHHHHHHH

i love him. especially after he came out and said he wants to play here and doesnt care how much money he receives when he was slated to be an FA.

Also putting in his quote from earlier in the week:

"I'm putting a boot on my leg, see if anyone follows me around."

yes it was!

I dogged him early in the season. He's been making those few short yardage opportunities, blocking like hell and just being a versatile all around good players.

Two thumbs up for improvement and desire!!

I totally dig heath as a fan, but he kind of pissed me off scoring td's because I had brady, morris, and maroney on my fantasy team.

Heath is the man.His blocking has improved alot.I rememeber the one where he chips the DE ,hits merriman pushes him back and runs into cooper freeing maroney for a 20 yrd.

I don't know, call me cold-hearted, but I'd rather players not help the opposing team in anyway.

I remember when Ditka was coaching he had a rule that you couldn't help opposing players off the ground. I agree with this.

You figure you only have so much energy in the tank, why waste even a little of it helping a 250 lb guy off the ground?

Not to mention you lose 5-6 seconds getting back to the huddle.

In a game of inches, every second and ounce of energy count.

In general, I think that such a rule is fine. The difference here is that a player was clearly injured. I think the "golden rule" applies here: winning is important, but if someone is in a position to help out someone who got hurt, I'd expect them to do so (so long as they're not putting themselves at risk in the process).

I love Heath. In fact, that's another reason I want this win so bad. So here it goes.

Reason #6231 - Heath is a nose to the grindstone, lunch-pail type of guy that didn't bicker at contract time, gave the hometown discount, is an ultimate team guy....... and he deserves a ring.

And--for better or for worse--he wants to bring the goodness of Dunkin' to the deprived folks of Alabama, liberating them from the dominion of Krispy Kremes. :D

I think specific Pats have been hilighted, but I haven't seen anybody accuse the team of being dirty. In fact, I thought some of the Chargers even said that.

But Heath did a good thing there, and I'm proud that he's a Patriot that is about to get a ring.

That wink was classic.

Good to hear the praise for Evans from Mitchell. Good stuff there. Appreciate the praise youve given here for the guy, because I appreciate the tremendous play he's brought to this team. He's become the classic Patriot baller. Solid and unsung.
