I'm psyched to go and am just wondering what to expect.

I went to 38 and 39, and plan to be going to 42. Believe me, the fun and excitement EXCEEDS expectations. I've described it as the Disney World of football, and I think that's as good a way to sum it up as possible. There is a ton of cool stuff going on in and around the stadium on game day. You see and meet all kinds of interesting people and characters. Yes, the halftime show is highly produced/staged and kind of lame, but who really cares? The entertainment on the field prior to the game actually is more fun to watch. And the play on the field is VERY INTENSE! You can actually tell the players are going for all the marbles.

The crowd is quieter than you might expect at a regular home game, but the true fans who make it are the real diehards so you'll find other very passionate Patriots fans (and Giants fans) at the game. They will be rowdy in small groups all over the stadium. It's a bigger-than-life spectacle you only can truly experience by being there. Make sure to take your camera. You'll remember being there the rest of your life.

I have been to the 3 victories....the stadiums get pretty loud. It is kinda back and forth too.

they have all lived up to the hype so far....here is to hopin this one is over fasr if you know what I mean....

the eagles were a little rowdy (there is a suprise)

stoppages are always annoying.

as for the half time show... I wouldnt know I have always used it to take a break and go relax...cool thing is the bathrooms are easly accessable during halftime which is good because I was at my seat like 4 hours before kick off.

There is nothing more fun than filing out of a stadium a champion:rocker:

What's the flight time for you to to Arizona?

12.5 hours to LAX, 1.5 hours to PHX.

That's 3 hours closer than Providence, which I flew to to see the playoff games.

Yep, I'm meeting the old man in PHX the day before the game. He is psyched too, of course. We went to the JAX and SD games together, too.

It sounds stupid and corny, but the Pats have really brought us together.

But it's true. In addition to the personal joy cheering for a team gives you, sharing in the same passion with friends and family is a great way to stay close.

Especially for a father and son. I remember when the Pats won SB against Carolina. The moment they won, Bob Kraft immediately hugged his son even though his wife was next to him. The ties that bind.

You're right. My kids went to "Build A Bear Workshop" with their mom when they were in RI last week and all 3 came back with stuffed animals wearing Pats gear! I was very happy to see that, because I've never pushed them towards the Pats.

I am PSYCHED. I wish the SB was this week!

Just a warning to those going for the first time....

DON'T BUY THE OFFICIAL SUPER BOWL TICKET HOLDER NECK THINGY LANYARD WHATEVER IT'S CALLED.

There's is an oily film inside of those and they tend to stick to your ticket stubs and they will ruin them by peeling the paper off when you try to take it out. I was lucky and it only stuck to a very small portion of my ticket stub. But I know others weren't so lucky.

From my experience in 2004

1. No the stadium is not quiet per se but it's definitely not a normal home game for a team as it isn't very noisy against a specific team's offense.

2. I guess it depends how much hype you buy into??? It's definitely a luxury and not something someone NEEDS to do before they die.

3. People weren't really rowdy heading in because security was very tight.

4. We didn't really notice because we were anxious to have the game continue.

5. The halftime show was cool for the part that the crowd did but you couldn't really make out a lot of what has happening on the stage (AKA-we didn't know about Janet sharing until we got home the next day)

6. It's a great experience but it's EXPENSIVE to get the most out of the trip AKA-the Parties and such. Low expectations make for the best experiences...

I went to SB 38 and I DO think it is something to do before you die...GREAT EXPERIENCE. Would not go again unless I won tickets or became very wealthy. Sat next to tow Pats fans that handed me two beers when I got there and two Panther fans that were actually very nice throughout the game...don't expect that from Gint fans....

Thought the corwd was loud but I was nosebleeds got a screaming headache yelling and my last experience to compare was the old Foxboro stadium during the 85 run.

Ya gotta go at least once!!!

Now you tell me.....is there anyone out there that knows anyone that can get the ticket out of this infernal thing without ruining the ticket? My SB38 ticlet is stuck in mine and it sucks.....can the photography places do it or what...anybody know who can help?

There is nothing quite like cheering your team on during a Super bowl.......

It is the number one sporting event in the world - to be going there is an amazing achievement. There a millions and millions watching across the planet, and only about 70,000 in attendance and I get to be one of them.

We are lucky enough to go, as a family, and this will be our third Super bowl all going together - in 2001 and 1996, I was able to take one of my three boys.

So, that means the once in a lifetime event for me has turned into FIVE.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would attend one not to mention five.

The Vibe is really cool, since 2001 security has been really tight, so it takes hours to get in. That makes for very cooperative people and also results in some people spending hours waiting for the game to begin.

The pre-game warm ups are filled with scattered cheers for both teams as hometown fans cheer the hero's they recognize.

The build-up to kickoff is amazing, I recall being so pumped at Pats/Rams that I thought I was going to pass out and needed a 1/2 valium to calm down to the point where I could watch and enjoy - it was that intense for me.

The ebb ad flow of the game is surreal with each team fans really getting into it. Each first down and subsequent score is met with deafening roars throughout. The most intense game of all was Pats-Panthers. It was hot, noisy and wild. Everyone knew they were in for a game for the ages.

When the game ends - watching the cruel yellow rope separates the winners from the losers are a sight to behold, losers crying from pain and sorrow and winners crying with joy and happiness. The tension release from the players and all fans are right there for all to witness.

And the confetti - oh man the confetti , when it comes down in your teams color you have hit a euphoria that no drug can deliver. Then the speeches and the trophy presentations are made, you begin to get your breath back. The walk out of the venue is also quite special as you celebrate with fellow Patriot fans from all over the world. High fives everywhere, chants, cheers and cries of supremacy and joy fill the air.

I have seen the GB loss and know how bad that feels and lucky enough to celebrate three victories in three really close games.

As far as the vibe... When I went to my first SB (SB38), it hit me like a ton of bricks after I got through the security line and was walking on the grounds of Reliant Stadium. It can only be described as, "Holy s---, I'm at the f---ing Super Bowl."

I would expect this to be like a road game for the Pats. You figure the Giants fans will outnumber us anyways, but the neutral fans will likely be rooting for the Giants also.
