Scouts Inc. ranks all 106 Super Bowl XLII players from Brady to Spann

All in all it's a pretty good article, although I can only hope that the Giants treat Kevin Faulk as though he is the 29th most important player in the game.

I'm also a bit surprised the Rodney is considered less important than Bruschi.

Larry Izzo over Kelley Washington, in particular, seems odd. IMO Washington is the MVP of our special teams by far.

interesting and a "scout's" perspective, ranking the players from top to bottom. but i find it more interesting to look at how they rank players at each position since the rest is apples and oranges when the players are mixed together. For example, they have the first five DE's, in order, as Umenyiora, Seymour, Strahan, Warren and Tuck. So, they're saying that the best DE in the game is Umenyiora, but that three of the top five are patriots. So, they think that, overall, the Patriots are a bit stronger at this position.

My brother and I consider ourselves fairly knowlegable Pats fans and just looked at each other during the Chargers game saying "Who the hell is Spach?"

Having watched almost every game this season, I don't remember seeing or hearing that name called.

Speaking of names, don't the Giants have some odd ones?
Whimper? Snee?

Once I got to 4. Richard Seymour, ranked over the two defensive lineman who have been superior to him for 2+ seasons I quit. (Yes, they're 11 and 12, but all three are better than Strahan, and Warren is better than Umeniyora)

Manning would've been about 50 before the playoffs, now he's 15? Totally based on hype, "Scouts Inc." sucks again. (Just so you know I'm not totally biased for Patriots players, Jacobs nor Maroney should be as high as they are, but Jacobs should be ranked over Maroney)

And the fact that Larry Izzo is ranked over Kelley Washington is an absolute travesty. I might sound like a broken record, but Washington is the best STer I've seen since Steve Tasker.

And what the hell is Rashad Moore doing ranked over people who have, you know, actually played in a game? He's certainly shouldn't be ranked over LeKevin, who was kept on the main squad over Moore.

Im very surprised that Welker isn't higher up on that list.

Spann has done a lot more on ST than Ventrone. Remember the punt that Eric Parker fumbled last year in the divisional round? Well thanks to Spann we picked that loose ball up, because Parker was in position to fall right back on it but instead of going for the ball Spann dove and knocked Parker out of the picture, allowing another Patriot to come in and fall on the ball.

don't be too hard on yourselves, Spach's first game for us was the second Jets game in Week 15
