If you have a chance to go back......Which RB would you take?

Laurence Maroney
DeAngelo Williams
Joseph Addai
LenDale White
Maurice Jones-Drew

My order

Maroney
Jones-Drew
Addai
White
Williams

its very close for the top 3 spots really but i like MJD more than Addai because of his power, speed and quickness all packed together in a 5"7 body

Too early to tell yet its only thier 2nd year but you left out Reggie Bush unless you are going by where the Pats drafted

I would still pick Bush but then in order would be......

Bush,Jones-Drew,Williams,Maroney,Addai and then White

Williams above Maroney and Addai?

And Bush. for all the hype, has proven less than everyone but Williams and maybe White.

MAroney #1 in my book, although MJD and Addai are also very good in there own role.

But Reggie Bush...............The most over hyped, dissapointing player in that group, if you consider he was the #2 pick overall and hyped nationally as the next Gayle Sayers.

I'd say it's still too early, but the bottom two would have to be Williams & White. You could makes cases for any of the others being better than each other, or worse, but you can't really make the case for the two I mentioned.

In order it would be...

1. Jones-Drew
2A. Maroney
2B. Addai
3. White
4. Williams

Maroney and Addai are equal, I would take whichever best fit the way I want the pick to run the ball

Are you serious, and you do realize we're talking about RB's, right?

I ask this because everyone knows Reggie Bush is more of a WR than anything...:)

Really, you would take Williams over Maroney, Addai, and White?

If I'm selecting a RB right now (this excludes Bush) that I'd have from 2008 on:
1) Maroney
2) Jones-Drew
3) Addai
4) either of Williams
or White. (I like Williams footwork, and balance. But, White has started to produce, and could end up being the better back.)

Disclaimer: I thought Maroney was the best RB (excluding Reggie Bush) leading up to the 2006 draft, and he's performed on a high level of late, so my continueing this stance should be expected.

I assume all of the Jones-Drew supporters are assuming you have another starting caliber RB on your roster? No way he can ever be a full time #1 RB, and if he were tried at that, you would limit your offense.

me and you ahve been in same boat for draft picks for quiet a while. Maroney & Meriweather even when people bash em

How original. More 2006 running back rehashing.

I'll just say MJD, Addai, and Maroney all show signs that they can be very good for a long time. Williams we really don't know about yet. White doesn't impress me.

PFnV

I'll take the next 3 years from Maroney over the next 3 years of any rb in the NFL except AP and maybe Steven Jackson.

i would say that Maroney, Addai, and MJD are all tied .

i can't think of one to take above the other.

Yea, it's been interesting these past few years, lol!

I still remember the thread dedicated to Meriweather, that turned into a multi-page argument concerning his "character concerns". Probably the most heated argument I've seen on this board over the past year. Some of the Maroney arguments between NSA and others got up there, but this thread was over the top.

Briz (a poster on ESPN) and I started seriously talking about Meriweather for the Patriots during the early parts of Febuary '07. We had some pretty heated arguments with other posters regarding Meriweather on ESPN, too. Briz wasn't on Maroney as the Patriots selection in 2006, though. He wanted them to draft either Antonio Cromartie, or Chad Jackson. Cromartie was interesting to me (as I had seen him play at FSU), but I still had some worries about the injury. Jackson was also my second option, but I didn't think they'd land both Maroney and Jackson. Speaking of Chad, I hope all that potential finally turns into production in 2008.

The other guy I liked for NE (if Maroney and Jackson were gone) was Richard Marshall (still have his Fresno State footage), and I'd still like to see NE get their hands on him down the road. Was anyone else on here a Richard Marshall fan?

1. Jones-Drew
2A. Maroney
2B. Addai
3. White
4. Williams
5. Bush

This is exactly how I feel. Man I'd love to have Sammie Morris and Jones-Drew as our backs. Oh god....

Maroney has won me over a fair bit towards the end of this season but I was never ready to write the guy off like some folks were.

Jones-Drew
Maroney
Addai
White
Bush
Williams

Bush is where he is strictly on potential. Addai is where he is because I don't see him lasting too long in this league, and I don't think he's great so much as teams prefer to make him beat them (which, to his credit, he often does).
