Another one. These are going to pile up. I'm surprised the Pats are even going to show up for this game, what with all these mouthy arrogant Giants so happy to face them and all the experts like Dr. Z et.al. picking the Pats to lose. What a chic pick these pathetic Giants are.

"1. I'm picking the Giants to upset the Patriots.

Tom Brady's high ankle sprain is the last piece of motivation I need to go with New York. In some ways, this will be as big an upset as the Jets thumping of the Colts in Super Bowl III."

How can it be such a big upset when so much of the national media is predicting them to win outright? In their rush to look different they are actually becoming part of the herd.

Let more people pick against them... maybe it'll help move the line under 10. :rocker:

the more everybody picks against the pats the better .

Another cow in the herd begins to moo...

This has pretty much been happening after the Patriots' first close game (Eagles?). The game is closer than expected, and the writer has 6 days to sit and ponder about the next game.

As anyone who has ever talked themselves into a bad investment knows, what starts as an idea becomes a hunch, which becomes a theory, which becomes a general rule, which eventually becomes an immutable law of physics and the universe.

That is, until the next game, when all the self-delusion comes tumbling down after the next Patriots win -- but it was a close win, so the process starts all over again!

The Super Bowl is two weeks away versus the 1 week in the regular season, so I'm expecting the herd to be practically stampeding off the cliff...

He also trashed Dana Jacobson and Mike & Mike, which I found exceedingly amateurish. Then again, it's Whitlock, and his entire schtick is based upon trashing his peers.

The Giants have "The Blueprint".

"Chasing all those offensive records is catching up with the Patriots. Remember when Belichick was running up the score every week and letting Brady play and throw well into the fourth quarter of blowouts? That takes a toll."

Can anyone explain to me what this means?

I guess that's why Tom takes the opportunity to get more throws in during TV timeouts, because clearly his arm is tired.

We hear this every week from thousands of writers and TV personalities. It's really not working well for them -- I think they're trying the "even a broken clock is right twice a day" mantra.

Keep it coming "EXPERTS". Hopefully by the end of the week NO ONE will pick our team to win.

It really makes alot of sense if you think about it. Afterall, I am sure Eli has played much fewer minutes since he was sitting down in the fourth quarter in all his blowouts. How many blowouts did the Giants have again?

Oh it's heading that way already, we might as well stay home.

No.

Except maybe, Garbage In, Garbage Out.;)

At this rate, we're going to be underdogs.

He probably thinks that's why Brady's shoulder is sore and he's on the injury report;)

On a different topic (Dana Jacobsen) in the same article, Whitlock says the following:

"Jacobson, in a drunken attempt at humor, F-bombed Notre Dame and Jesus. ESPN suspended the "First Take" host for a week. You drop a woman in ESPN's locker-room environment and "surprisingly" she acts just like Sean Salisbury and everyone else. Personally I like Salisbury. The trouble he got into at ESPN for showing off his manhood reminded me of my college playing days when everyone would rush to get naked when the cleaning lady ran late tidying our locker room."

Well, how quickly we went from Dana Jacobsen's vulgarity to Sean Salisbury's manhood to how great is was to get naked with a bunch of other college guys to humiliate the poor cleaning lady. (This came a scant few paragraphs after Whitlock compared Tony Dungy's decision to remain with the Colts to Martin Luther King's ministry and crusade for racial equality).

Whitlock and everyone else is entitled to their opinion about who will win and why. But the rest of his column is a bit of an embarrassment to say the least. I guess that means you should consider the source.

14 point underdogs. LOL. And after we win, the line to eat crow will start at Foxboro and extend all the way to North End

I've never seen a great team so disrespected. If the 90's Cowboys had an 18-0 team, would anyone have picked against them? Doubt it.
