The outcome Sucked.

But the Ride was great. That was a great year to be a pats fan.

But those 85 Bears were the best team ever assembled.

If I recall correctly, it was a great start with special teams, then the Pats settled for 3, then it looked liked the entire Bears roster was lining up against the offensive line. Every snap looked like a jailbreak with a wave of defensive lineman sweeping over whomever had the ball. I just cannot watch the replay of that game. But up to that point, dreams of greatness and a Cinderella story in the making.

"Squish the Fish" - check.

"Berry the Bears" - not so much.

Tony Eason goes fetal when Wilbur Marshall is 5 yds away ! Could you imagine Brady ever doing that !

Tony Eason's pass awareness in the pocket is prettty sorry. I've already seen a few instances where Brady would of stepped up a couple of strides and made a big completion negating the pass rush.

This was one of my most painful patriot memories. I actually stayed home from school the day after.

The Pats just needed to make some plays and this game would have been competitive. Also, the coaching was not very good. Bill and Brady would have crushed the Bears.

I wish someone would show the AFC championship game from 85. In contrast to this game, that was my favorite moment.

You said it. We were so outmatched that day I was in a deppression for a week. But finally breaking the Orange Bowl crush was a huge highlight for me.

I just shut it off, what a massacre. It looked worse this time than when I saw it live.

Not that any of this matters as the Bears were just unbeatable, but to come out throwing, no play action, no draws, no screens, very few runs, allowing those maniacs to pin their ears back and jailbreak on every play was piss poor coaching........................

I flew to Jacksonville, FL and drove over and witnessed this first hand. Man that was a tough day, but the party in the French Quarter on the prior Sat night was well worth it.

The style of play looks so much different compared to present day. The players seem generally lighter, leaner and quicker. Also, the pass offenses seem much less sophisticated.

and he had overall two awesome seasons

concerning the Super Bowl XX: ok...it was a massacre...no doubt...it was the first FULL game i was able to see...i was happy (very happy) when Tony Franklyn made 3-0...but then...

With all due respect to John Hannah, if he's mad at Eason for SB20, he needs to look in the mirror because his performance that game may have been the worst of his career. The Fridge owned him.

The only guy who came to play that day was Steve Nelson, who was assigned to key on Payton and did it well, making Payton a non-factor. Only he has the right to talk about any teammates' poor performance that day, IMO.

i loved Grogan too but, honestly, i think that we would have lost in a similar way

it was not Eason the guilty man...it was a team loss and CHI was too good

probably the Pats arrived at that game 'satisfied' coming (first team in the NFL) to play a Super Bowl with 3 road victories

i respect Tony Eason because he playied two amazing seasons that often we forget (last year there was a big thread on him with many many responses and i remember at the end a 50-50 consensus on him)
