Hey Patsfans,

First off, I wanted to say congratulations on the AFCCG. It was a great game, but the Pats deserved the win. I must say I was extremely impressed with Maroney & Faulk. Seems like Maroney was a non-factor for most of the season due to your passing game, however, the last 3 or 4 games of the year he has really broken out of his shell - absolutely dominating performance against the Chargers. You have a solid young RB there, and I'm sure he will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.

In addition, your defense did a phenomenal job of keeping us out of the end zone. Some say your defense is "aging", however, what I see is veteran leadership with the likes of Bruschi, Seau and Harrison who each had some game saving/changing plays. I believe this has been a key to your success, and something we are missing in San Diego with a very young team.

Finally, I just wanted to say thank you for being great hosts and allowing me to post on your board. This is the only opposing teams board I have ever posted on (because I follow the best team). I have browsed other teams boards before games, and have noticed they are usually quick to ban people for even the slightest bit of smack or negative comment about their team. With that being said, I must give props to Patsfans.com as I have seen some pretty harsh talk in both directions, but it's all in good fun and that's the way it's supposed to be.

Now, for the Superbowl. As you are playing the Giants, I would like to request a two week pass on the Patriots bandwagon for the following reasons:

1) Complete and utter disdain for Sheli Manning
2) As one of my favorite players in the NFL, I would like to see Seau finally get his ring - he definitely deserves it
3) Seeing history be made at 19-0 may be something I'll never see again

With that being said, Go Pats!!

Next season, Go Bolts!! :D

Sincerely,

DFWChargerFan

PS - For the love of God, PLEASE do not re-sign Randy Moss next year!

I have a way more respect for Rivers now than when I did before the AFCCG. Ballsy performance.

I'd like the Chargers again if their players would keep their mouths shut. This whole "classy" thing is ridiculous.

Classy post and thanks for the props. I think I speak for a lot of Pats fans and patsfans posters when I say that the Chargers gave us a helluva game and are pretty well set-up for the future.

Feel free to jump on the bandwagon, and even when you're not aboard, know that this is a place where we actually WANT opposing fans' viewpoints, especially when expressed in terms that are respectful and live in the world of some kind of objective reality.

Stick around, stay as long as you want. And congrats on a terrific season, another step for a tough - and, unfortunately for us, YOUNG - Chargers team.

Aye... I agree... If they would do their talking ON the field rather then off, I would probably enjoy watching them more too. However hearing their smack talk before the game puts me off too much.... hehe

Welcome to the Good side!!!! *wink*

I agree, and hopefully something that will addressed in the offseason. "Let the play do the talking" should be their motto for next year, IMO.

yeah , my chargers really gotta learn to just shut up

if these last two seasons haven't taught them that i'm afraid nothing will

i do love rivers on field smack though

just all this pre and post game crap from hardwick LT and igor has got to end

Wow. There actually are some nice, classy Charger fans??:D

Ya, I agree, I gained a ton of respect for Rivers after last week's big balls showing. I still don't like the kid's ****y tude, but I can never knock the kid's toughness and will to win. Big props to Rivers. The Chargers actually had me worried leading upto the game. The talent on that team is very close to the Pats and even better in some areas. It's funny, but the Chargers scared me a helluva lot more than the Gmen do even though we waxed the Chargers 38-14 in week 2 and struggled with the Gmen 38-35 in week 17. Anyway, good luck next year.

I think, for the most part, you Charger fans are much cooler than the Colts fans.

there's always room on the bandwagon for a couple more --- all those who have been pillaged are welcomed into the empire, afterwards.

i do love rivers on field smack though

Brady talks smack on the field (esp when players on the other team guaranty a victory...thanks Steelers).

Still he needs to learn to turn it off and maintain his focus, too.

Agreed but doubtful it will happen as long as Norv is the HC and as long as you are missing that veteran leadership that you mentioned in your earlier post.

Your team is good no doubt. But you need to walk the walk before you talk the talk. There's quite a few guys in the SD lockerroom that have yet to figure it out.

DFWChargerFan thanks for the many well thought out posts you share with us on this board. Opposing fans like you are a pleasure to have around. Chargers are oh so close to making it over the hump and becoming a major force in the post season. As has been said, if some of them would just shut up and play, they would be much better off. And I too gained a ton of respect for Rivers after hearing about his condition and the fact that he toughed it out and played last Sunday.

Climb on board and enjoy the ride :eat3:

Looks like we are making some coaching changes yet again, so we'll have to see what happens.

I believe smack talk can actually be used tactically as an advantage (on the field). But I couldn't agree with you more, what really pizzes me off is the pre-game presser smack talk and even more, after losing, please just keep your mouth shut.

pats are kind of like the jordan bulls ---- some of these other dudes were just born in the wrong year.
if not for the pats, sd players could very possibly have been wearing a ring next year, and I mean the superbowl ring --- not earrings.

i really don't see the problem with norv turner

i think he's proven in the playoffs that the raiders job was an obomination and he's proven what he's capable of with better talent (like belichcik did going to NE, from the browns)

did you just compare norv turner to Coach Belichick?

ban, plz.

Gmen had nothing to lose in week 17. Now, they have everything to lose. I'm sure Sheli is currently shi-iting his pants. I don't think this will be the same team you saw in week 17, IMO. Pats should steamroll the Gmen blowout style.

yeah - this won't be the same pats team you saw in week 17.
that'll be the key difference.
