I don't have any links yet. On The Big Show on WEEI late this afternoon, Ordway said that Deval Patrick announced they were having a rally for the Patriots before they leave Sunday.

According to WEEI, the gates open at 9 am and the rally starts at 10 am. The team will leave for the airport at noon. If I can dig any more news up, I'll post it.

Re: Pep Rally Sunday

One word...STUPID.* Did we morph into a team that hasn't been there before?* IE:* San Diego Chargers?* Good God...this is embarrassing.

I am fairly certain that there has been a "PEP RALLY" to send off the Patriots prior to each of the last 3 SBs. That is different than players mouthing off and saying how they are going to hurt the opposing team's qb ala the Chargers.

Yeah, they were usually in the lots at the stadium.

Re: Pep Rally Sunday

Will they be picking the homecoming King and Queen?

Re: Pep Rally Sunday

I saw it on TV. I believe the gates at Gillette will open at 9 and the rally is suppose to be at 10 and will be carried on TV 4 in Boston, maybe others.

And yes, there has been a rally every year we have gone to the Super Bowl as a send off to the team. The Charger held theirs before a playoff game last year, big difference.

Re: Pep Rally Sunday

LOL Seems like some of the fan base doesn't know how things have always been done around here...

I love watching the Gillette sendoff almost as much as the jubilant return prior to the duck boat parade!!!

Re: Pep Rally Sunday

They'd better be hoping for a low turnout... I know they don't want tailgating for this but opening the gates only one hour before?

That should be a fun traffic jam.

See you guys inside at noon!

Re: Pep Rally Sunday

At least the Pats wait for a SuperBowl, if you recall the Colts had a pep rally before the Pats game this year! and the Chargers before last years frigging DIVISIONAL GAME!!
I ain't one for pep ralley's, but I don't think it's stupid too go. I sure as hell am not going to driver and hour and a half to go to one though.

Re: Pep Rally Sunday

What are we, Chargers fans? Leave it to Deval. :bricks:

I don't believe you can blame Deval for this one. There has been a send off/pep rally before AT LEAST 2 of the 3 Super Bowls...may have been one for all three.

Gov. Patrick to give a Super Bowl sendoff at Gillette

On Sunday, Jan. 27 at 10:00am, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick will give a Super Bowl sendoff celebration at Gillette Stadium. The entire New England Patriots team will participate. Event is open to the public with free admission and parking.

The event is free and open to the public. Parking at Gillette Stadium is also free. Gillette Stadium parking lots and gates will open at 9 a.m. for the 10 a.m. sendoff. Please note that tailgating will not be allowed in the parking lots on Sunday.

Re: Gov. Patrick to give a Super Bowl sendoff at Gillette

Together we can...send off the Pats to AZ.

And where are the governors of VT, NH, RI, ME and CT? It's their team too.

They're in VT, NH, RI, ME, and CT, not in MA (you know, where Gillette Stadium is)

I assume that no one has to tell you that Patriot fans are not just in a 100 mile radius of Foxboro........
I didn't post this thread about the send off to start a "I'm a bigger fan, 'cause I live in Mass," piss'n contest........

it's all good. Sharing the love and spreading our love to all nearest cities are even BETTER.

Let see if George Bush will be there.

According to Channel 4:

9am Gates and lots open
10am Rally starts
11am Players arrive

Apparently they will show the last hour of the SD game.
