Boy are you wrong. I went to that SB. Everything just came together for them. They were unbeatable that year. Just awesome, over the top awesome. Defense was over the top. Offense, well, what was it 45 points.

Yep, if we could play them, I would LOVE to see that game. But it obviously cannot happen so we will never know. But to make light of that team is just not facing reality.

You can't match up teams from different eras. Too many variables. Any team with Walter Payton would have scored some points. The Bears averaged 29 points a game during the regular season and 30 a game in the playoffs and you think they wouldn't score?

The 85 Bears team dominated the playoffs like no team in NFL history. They are the gold standard.

None of those teams dominated a season like the Bears did. The Bears played their best when it mattered, in the playoffs and the Superbowl. You can't compare teams across eras, all you can do is look at what they did against the competition they faced. There are too many variables to make any meaningful head to head comparisons.

The Bears averaged 30 in the playoffs and gave up 3. That's a 27 point differential per playoff game. The Pats played their best ball in the first part of the regular season. The Bears played their best ball in the playoffs and Superbowl dominating the best competition.

The 2007 Miami Dolphins would beat the '85 Bears. The guys are so much bigger today.

The Dolphins spread their offense and soundly beat the Bears. Those Bears would have no answer for this Patriot team. In addition, let this Patriot defense play under the same rules in which that Bears team played and I'm not sure how much Jim McMahon and company is going to keep up with Brady. Unprepared yes. Inept no. John Hannah was on D& C this morning and said the '85 Pats had won nine games in a row under Grogan that year relying primarily on the run. The playoffs culminated in a 31-14 win in MIA in the AFCCG where, amazingly, he said the Pats rushed less than ten times the entire game! He said most of the players were ecstatic that Grogan was cleared as healthy for the SB and wanted him to start ahead of Eason. The coaches saw it differently and panicked. They decided to go away from what had got them there and come out pass happy in the SB with Eason slinging it around. You know the rest of the story. Very interesting prospective from a former all time greast player.

How freaking stupid is that?!? It's the '85 Bears first of all. Second, times and technology have definitely changed the way players are trained and healed. Are you serious? It's like saying that Steven Hawking would whoop Albert Einstein in a science fair. How can you compare? Those '85 Bears and others that came before today's NFL paved the way for today's players and their success.:bricks:
