If he said anything different, I'd cut him. Nothing to see here folks.

I am convinced that these NY players are going to say something stupid one of these days before the game.. Book it..

You couldn't be more wrong. Umenyiora is a mouthy arrogant jerk. The Giants are already getting full of themselves. It's one thing to believe it, another to tell it the NY Post.

He doesn't have all the confidence in the world. He doesn't have mine. :D

Of course he is. I'm not saying that............. but in the above statement, its not that big a deal. He shouldn't say anything at all but when it comes to BB material, this is pretty thin.

It's not like he said "we have the blueprints" or "these guys aren't as good as you think" or something like that.

He just say''s that "we can beat these guys", I think he's full of sheet, but have no problem with what he said.

My favorite part?

"We don’t want to be the team handing that trophy over to them,” Pierce said.

Umm, Little Antonio, it's not your trophy to give, son.

What's funny is, you're rarely if ever, hear a Pats player say anything like this.
They talk about execution, respecting the other team, playing their game, tough matchup, they're (opponent) good at x, x, x, x, it's going to be tough.

They know how to talk to the media in order to limit the potential fodder it can create. It seems other teams don't know or don't care.

I guess LdT was right.... 'it must come from their head coach'.

My favorite part of any Pats-win SB is when the other team is practically shoved aside and quarantined! :D

Oh yeah.....The Yellow Rope!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's so insulting - - like herding diseased cattle away.

I LOVE that part. "Move it along Fredex and Steve Smith, it's time for the trophy presentation".

If this guy is so confident, and knows how to beat the Pats, how come his defense allowed them to hang 38 pts. and a loss on his team just a month ago? In that game our defense played bad, not our offense, which ran all over the Giants. Our D has come on in the playoffs. Our O, which has been stymied by bad weather and better secondarys so far in the playoffs, will have perfect conditions in AZ.

If I was this guy I wouldn't be boasting about all my confidence; I would be in the film room trying to figure out what the !@@#$! we are going to do in this game to try to win.

I don't think it's a big deal at all that he said that, if I were a Giants fan I would be pissed if the players didn't think they can win. It's not like he guaranteed victory or said "they're right where we want them" or something like that, he said that they can beat the Pats (which, by the way, is true).

I think the reason people here get riled up by it was previously pointed out - you just don't hear Pats players say stuff like that. Still, no big deal.

While on the surface, I don't disagree with folks who say there is nothing to see here, move on. However, the Pats have made more out of less in the past so in that aspect it is news/mention-worthy. Sometimes the messenger is as "important" as the actual message.

Exactly. And the use of the word "that" team... How can you know you can do something when you never have...The Patriots KNOW they can beat the NYG because they HAVE - yet you will not see a single player on this team articulate that in the next 10 days. What they will do is tell you how tough it will be to beat THAT team, and then go out on the field and do it.

Bingo!!!!!!

Whatever is said in the leadup to XLII, I'm willing to bet that it won't go as far as Anthony Smith did. Still makes me smile to think of the clip with his dumb face looking at the reporters guaranteeing that they'd win. I'll be bringing that one up to my Steeler fan friend well beyond XLII.

I would expect as much. They played us well and he is stating his opinion. MY opinion is I know they can't beat this team now that Stephen Neal and Nick Kaczur are back in the lineup. I also know that Bill Belichick and the Pats are 10-0 with 2 weeks to prepare.

You are so right...note the many quotes from the Patriots players about how THEY know they can beat the Giants...a feat they have already accomplished once.

You can think it, but when the media asks, shut the f*ck up.

I heard something like this since week 11 and we are still 18-0. Next question.?
