Me and some buddies over some beer were having a discussion about the playoffs and came upon a question that neither could answer...if at the end of the regular season all teams are tied at 8 n 8 what happens....

With a tie breaker that complicated they get two wrestling rings and put the Qbs of each team, divided by conference, in them and have an over the top rope battle royal. Last 6 standing are the playoff teams then they eliminate for seeding.

You'd simply apply the rules that apply in any tie breaker scenario. If everyone truly was 8-8 you'd likely have to move down to some of the more esoteric ones like points scored and net touchdowns or coin toss, but at the end of the day that's what tie breakers are there for.

THe situation is covered in tie-breaker scenarios. It would be pretty simple to go through the process to figure out who the division champs and wild cards were. The hard part would be going through the entire schedule (it would have to be a real schedule) and decide who lose to whom and what the scores were.

Don't forget the last tie-breaker is a coin toss, but because everyone plays different teams who themselves play different teams, the record against common opponents would likely resolve most of the ties.

Complicated answer to a complicated question. That had to be the most confusing thing i ever read.

And that would be in case of tie peyton gets one free pass to harrison in end zone and if that is incomplete repeat as nessecary?

That's better than a damned coin flip.

Has a tie breaker ever actually come down to a coin flip before? I'd be pretty appalled if my team had its fate decided by a coin flip.

Click the link. The final tie-breaker is a coin flip. No kidding. The gravity of the Earth decides who goes to the playoffs.

Right, I knew that. I was just wondering if such a coin flip has ever actually taken place to determine a playoff spot.

No, not yet but the chances of that happening is like the chances of a team going 18-0...oh wait a minute that's already happened. ;)
