K.Faulk was on Put up your Dukes, besides looking extremely pissed for some reason, gave an interesting example from BB coaching style.

We all know that BB puts a great deal of attention to detail. Faulk gave an example: BB tells his players who the refs are, and what they like to call. Now that really stroke me as something very interesting. It means BB (or his coaching staff) studies the tapes of the refs and records their tendancies and what players can and can't get away with.

I wonder if all the coaches take time to do this.

Re: K.Faulk on BB

i dont think bill overlooks anything. he is by far the best prepared coach in the game, and it shows through his players

Re: K.Faulk on BB

Dukes was hard on Brady last week, comparing him to Rivers in re: to trashtalking. Perhaps Dukes brought this up. Or, maybe Dukes is a Pats hater.

BB probably has a guy just for this duty. Remember in Patriot Reign he employed someone who just listened to sports radio and reported back to him

Why pay someone to do what this board does for free?

My favorite part of the interview was the way he answered his questions. More than once he started his answer with "well Belichick always tells us....." or some variation

we're gonna sorely miss faulk the day he leaves.

I hope he stays as a coach.

Like Vrabel, he has such a huge variety of skills that there's almost certainly a coaching job for him if he wants it.

Man....I knew BB was very detail oriented but....going as far as studying habits of refs sounds bit like borderline paranoia. Well may be there is a good reason why BB is best NFL coach ever.

I'd be surprised if all NFL teams didn't do this.

The Ravens sure knew they could get away with holding receivers.

This almost sounds like a trade secret that Faulk shouldn't have let out...

It was interested to hear Tom Curren last night on FSN talk about how he doesn't like Kevin Faulk as a person. He praised his play though. I'll admit Faulk doesn't come across as Mr. Friendly, but he sure can play ball.

He is one of the leaders in the locker room. His team mates like him. That's all I care about. Also it is better to have leader that you respect than like. If you are also liked, its a bonus. Faulk is both respected and liked by his team mates. He is not called Mr.Money for nothing.

Did Tom Curren give a reason as to why he doesn't like Faulk?

If Bill had his way he'd film the refs too and create a ref database. After all....this is what he taped the defensive signals for.

I'm reasonably certain all the good teams do this. I remember reading somewhere (can't recall the source) that once upon a time there was a ref who threw 2 flags a game, always on the same person. Teams would use that to their advantage.

All NFL teams scout the refs... what they call, where they look, where they DON'T look, what they do in given situations...well all, except Miami, maybe!

No, he said something like, 'I don't like him as a person, but he sure is a great player.' Then, he said 'I don't think Faulk will lose any sleep over my comment'.

I actually appreciate a media head, who says what he really thinks in that regrard. It's rare.

In ESPN the Magazine there is an article on why people shouldn't hate BB. It was stupid so I didn't buy it but a quote from Ted Johnson stood out. He said, "I think we can all agree that BB is a great coach but I wonder how many of his players will be at his HOF induction."

I wish I could find some way to respond to TJ. See those SB rings in your jewelry drawer TJ? You wouldn't have those without BB. I think they'll be alot of players and fans (I hope to be one of them) in Canton when BB goes in.
