The CBS intro to the AFC championship game was the best i've ever seen, classical music set to football highlights.

/No link at this time. :(

It'll probably be on DVD in a few weeks.

I agree. NFL Films, Steve Sabol, 'nuf said, they are the best.

Funny, I had the opposite reaction- I thought it was way overdone, way over the top drama wise - and it seemed like it went on forever to boot. Just show the game people is what I was thinking.....!

Metoo, found it unnecessary and way meodramatic. Less BS and more football, please.

I had seen the exact same thing earlier in the day. I believe it was part of the NFL Network thing that was on Sunday morning. So it was probably more for the DVD that the NFL Network will inevitably release.

i liked it a lot

I normally like the intros to games, I am a major dork like that....I thought this one was terrible though.

I think there are two different things to which people are referring here. There was an hour long 'road to the AFCCG' special that was done by NFL Films and Sabo, that I thought was outstanding (seeing as they whipped it together in a week) and then when CBS took over the broadcast, there was a much different highlight package that was played in partner with footage of an orchestra and some crazy conductor. I thought the CBS thing was half decent, but the NFL films work was really excellent... they had some cool clips of Belichick coaching up the defense during the Jax game. He basically just told them all to do their effing jobs, :)

Yeah, it was pretty dramatic, but not even the best this year - I still think NFLN's "Superstar" intro with Lupe Fiasco for the 16-0 game was the best I've seen in a while. Does anyone have a link for that?

I think I agree with people who liked and disliked it.

I do not like these goofy intros -- just gimme the game. BUT, if the network insists on doing it anyway, this last one was pretty good.

I agree; I liked it a lot.

Those who want more football should realize that this doesn't take one second away from football; all the football you're going to see will still be there. Now if you mean more talking heads, then this was much better. :)

I agree, the NFL Films Road to the AFCCG was exceptional. I was very impressed - Tom Selleck's narration was outstanding.

I couldn't hear it, because I was in a sports bar, so the composer guy looked really funny with his hair going all over the place. The sports bar was playing some sort of rap song over the noise from the TV, so I just tried to imagine that the orchestra was playing the rap music. It wasn't too bad.

Have they resurrected Leonard Bernstein?
