You are talking about the biggest media based team and a huge number of fans so you are going to see the Giants getting LOTS of support.

The Giants are only one of very few teams that have a larger base of fans and media based craziness that outdoes Boston area teams.

But I would rather see two highly popular areas meeting in the Super Bowl than a Seattle,Jacksonville type Super Bowl with very light attention due to the location and small fan base.

When the Giants become the odds on favorite in Vegas, I'll believe that people are beginning to believe that sentiment.

If you are planning on buying a Super Bowl ticket, a Seattle type opponent would drop the prices down substantially.

.

The NFL, the networks, and Vegas would all love to get a 50-50 split to maximize interest and betting.

It's going to be quite a show. The Giants have come on strong the past two months. Should be an excellent game.

Brady vs. Manning in the Superbowl. Who'd a thunk it!!!

:D

This affects the outcome of the game...How?
Avoiding ESPN has been one of the best decisions I've made in the playoffs.

Yeah I haven't watched ESPN in a few weeks. The last time I looked they glorified some New York papers anti-patriot article.

Any public poll will be skewed by the fact that people hate the Patriots.

Patriots will win this one convincingly. Brady is fine. Everything will be great.

39% of voters also think that Eli Manning is better-looking and better-dressed than Tom Brady.

The gap can be explained by female and gay male fans, who know better even if they live in NYC.

The NFL Network is worth it just to avoid ESPN.

You guys still don't get it. That 44% WANT the Patriots to lose but I bet you damn near anything they don't really BELIEVE the Giants will win. The who are you rooting for portion of the poll supports that notion.

Randy Moss can't go to Disney World because of the restraining order. (the preceding was a joke). :D

TradeSports, which is a pretty reliable indicator of opinion since people are putting their money behind what they say, has the Pats at an 82.3% chance of winning the game and at a 48.5% chance of covering a 12.5 point spread. Sounds about right to me, and there have been over 12 hours since the news of Brady's foot hit the wires so it has had no noticeable impact so far, but it's still early on the coast and in Vegas.

Not in the least bit surprising when you factor in the number of people who either want the giants to win, or are giants fans (there's a lot of them). I expect even Jets fans to be supporting the Giants, etc. Just a small sampling, but even the Redskins, Cowboys, and Eagles fans I know are pulling for the G-Men (who'd have thought?). I'm sure that if you put a gun to their head and told them their life depended on the pick, 99.99% of people would pick the Patriots. In an anonymous and unscientific poll, it's pretty easy to just pick what you want, as opposed to what you think.

Well according to another SportsNation Poll, the majority of every other fanbase is rooting against the Pats. Not surprising. What is surprising though according to this scientific poll, 33.9% of Pats fans are rooting for the Giants to win.

I can just picture some rabid Jets or Dolphins fan, bloodshot eyes and cheeks red with rage, clicking over and over again until he develops a sore on his index finger.

The ESPN poll had 81% voting that Indy would beat the Bolts, and the same week the poll had 68% voting that NE would beat the Jags. lol

When I saw that, I decided the poll had nothing to do with facts and everything to do with Haters. Whatever.
