Wilbon trashes the Chargers

On PTI just now, Wilbon addressed Hardwick's comments about Seymour by saying that, at some point, you just have to consider the source. He then points out that, from the quarterback on downward, the entire roster seems to be full of sore losers who just love to run their mouths. Kornheiser was a little more diplomatic, saying that there probably is some basis for Hardwick's comments, although his airing htem out like that still just makes him a jealous, sore loser.

As a side note, they also both agreed that, while the Pats aren't the most dominant team ever (the '85 Bears are, to them), perfection trumps dominance, and therefore the '07 Patriots, assuming a Super Bowl win, will have to be considered the best team of all time.

You obviously missed the Monday Night game where he, Jaws & don shula were absolutely giddy in the booth when they thought the Ravens were going to uspet the Pats. By the end of the game Shula was gone and the booth was somber. Priceless.

It's not really the point. I hate PTI and Around the Horn because they're just silly yelling matches, but do you honestly think the Pats have never encountered a dirty player? When was the last time you saw a player on the Pats run to the media and whine about it like that? write a letter or file a complaint but shut your mouth after you lose. This is something that I can't believe so many Chargers players don't seem to get.

Trey Wingo and Schlereth were on Colin Cowherd this morning and made the following point: The '85 Bears were NOT dominant until about week 7 or 8. They struggled against some pretty poor teams. It was the '86 Bears, by the way, who set all the defensive records.

This is not to say 1985 edition wasn't awesome, obviously they were. But history likes to paint with broad strokes, and appartently that team struggled more often, at least early, en route to 15-1 than the Pats did in their few late-season close calls.
