Has to be one of the best drives of the year and we didn't even get any points on it. Great work by Laurence and Kevin with some clutch plays.
:rocker:
:rocker:It made my nipples erect just watching it.
norv pulls a marty and punts from the other team's 37 with 9 mins to go down by 2 scores

The NFL has stats for everything so I’m sure there is an official answer for this question…was the Patriots drive which chewed up the final 9:13 some sort of record ? The Patriots desperately need another record and surely this drive was one ie:
* The longest scoreless last possession drive in NFL history ?
* The longest scoreless last possession drive in AFC history ?
* The longest scoreless last possession drive in play-off history ?
* The longest scoreless last possession drive in AFC play-off history ?
* The longest scoreless last possession drive in AFCG play-off history ?
* Err… The longest scoreless last possession drive in NE history ?
Come on…it must be a record…somehow :singing:
The first half had ended well for the Giants and the second started even better, with Hostetler leading a monstrous 14-play, 75-yard drive that ate up 9:29.
What a drive, indeed. Huge play by Faulk and Maroney (and the O-Line) was just a beast in the 2nd half.
Maroney also put an end to the talk by some of the haters that he only had a good yard per carry because of the passing game + no one paid attention to the run, etc. The Chargers knew the Patriots were going to be running the football down their throat and there was nothing they could to do stop it. The line run blocked well and Maroney broke tackles and made sweet cut backs on play after play...then pushed foward for an extra 2-3 yards whenever he was being tackled.
I'm loving how fresh Maroney has looked compared to the rest of the backs in the playoffs. He's got an explosiveness that others don't because some of the others have twice the carries Maroney had in the regular season. Kind of funny how people complained Maroney wasn't a 250-300ish carry back this year, when we are seeing that it is a very good thing he wasn't.
No, see, the Patriots didn't score on that drive. The Chargers have the blueprint to stop them!
In all fairness - if I was down by 5 points with 9:38 to go in the 4th Quarter I'd never think for a moment that it my team would never see the ball again.
I'd have to have some faith that my defense would step up - possibly benefitting from having the Pats start deep in their own territory.
That being said, agressive play should have been Turner's game plan - and punting at the 36 yard line is not agressive.
Aye...but that wasn't the last possession of the gameGiants vs. Bills in SB XXV:
