Kevin Faulk

It's nice to see that the rest of the country is finally catching on! Great game Kevin !

Indeed they are. Look at KFFL, or the Bolts fans who've visited here this week.

Some people call Reggie Bush a "Kevin Faulk type" player now. And there's a distinct possibility that Faulk is the better of the two.

I guess is increased prominence is a combo of:

A. Getting a lot of reps, because the Pats played so much in the shotgun.
B. His team captaincy.

Plus of course his general record of accomplishment, and the fact that he hasn't been forced to be a mediocre feature back for a few seasons now.

Hope this was not his last home game. I do think it is but, pray it is not. Would love to see him for one more season.:D

I'll say it again....
Faulk is Awesome! We would have lost this game if it weren't for him and LoMo!
Nice game, Faulk!

I don't know "unsung" Faulk is. His cap cost is $4M a year.

Faulk is one of our most imporatant players, and has been for many years. I love the four-wide and five-wide as long as Faulk is on the field.

BTW, the UNSUNG hero of today is Heath Evans.

I will be the first to admit that early in his career, I was not a big Faulk fan. He looked tentative, he fumbled, and he looked to be too small. These Super Bowl years, however,he has been invaluable. I have no problem admitting I was wrong on this one.

Ditto. I liked it when we drafted him, and was disappointed when he didn't pan out in an expanded role. But since then he's been incredible. Dependable receiving option, decent running option. Hell, he even had that one season in 2002 when he was awesome as a kick returner.

Games like yesterday are why I laugh every of-season when the ridiculous "Kevin Faulk is going to be cut" thread inevitably appears on this board.

I'm sure it will be back in a few months.

I thought something that went unnoticed was early in the 2nd quarter when Faulk caught that pass from Brady and was tackled at about the SD 1 yard line. Faulk was falling down and I think both he and I had the same flash back...

In the Colts game Faulk was in a similar position, he reached out his arms and crossed the goal line but fumbled the ball. If I recall, Faulk was ruled down and the fumble was moot and we took the lead against the Colts late in the game. As Faulk ran off the field in celebration he ran by Bill Belichick who said, "Hey Kevin, why don't you learn to hold onto the F***ING Ball!!!" I thought this quote demonstrated more then any other of Bill's just how focused and great of a coach he is

Back to Faulk falling down by the goaline, he did NOT extend his arms and risk a fumble and I just know it was because of the above moment. He realized the Pats would have the ball at the 1 yard line with a 1st down and have no problem jamming it in with Maroney, which he did. Just another moment where experience and preperation makes Faulk just the consummate pro.

Hope this was not his last home game. I do think it is but, pray it is not. Would love to see him for one more season.:D

Whaaa? Faulk's not even in the discussion for retirees. He's in his early 30s and doesn't have alot of wear and tear on him because his workload has been limited his entire career. He's like a Larry Centers type, capable of playing at a high level up until his late 30s, even.
