I much rather play the Giants, the Packers can be more explosive in good weather. We know what the Giants can do and even at their best we are better. The Colts,Packers,Cowboys are more talented than the Giants and could be more explosive. We know what we are going to get with NY.

Nice signature man.

And yeah I'm not from the camp of "let's beat every different team we can!", that's not important to me at all. The fact is, having just faced the Giants in December, I'd rather have another go at them because BB and co. will plug the specific holes and draft a revised strategy. Better than having a crack at a brand new similarly talented team just for the sake of it being a new team.

I agree 100%. Farve would have been much more dangerous in good conditions.

I'm with this guy. :agree:

I didn't bother saying "I hope [PICK THE TEAM] wins" because it doesn't really matter, they play whoever wins. But the devil you know... or whatever the phrase is. The Pats will be prepped for this game. They know what the Giants are capable of and will have a healthy respect for it, while making the appropriate adjustments to what was lacking in Week 17.

I like this for two other reasons:

01. Two teams that actually bothered to play in Week 17 are being rewarded for it. The Giants obviously benefitted from it, and being tested late in the year has helped the Pats in situations like today where somebody other than Brady/Moss/Welker needs to win the game for them. Teams that "sat it out" were pretty flat in the playoffs. A lot of mediots were talking about how it is a dumb risk for guys to actually play football. Hey fellas, it isn't august, and they're not handing tickets out for free, how is it too much to ask that the teams actually take it seriously?

02. No Brett Favre talk for the next two weeks. Nothing against him or the Packers, I've got no feeling towards that team one way or the other, but merciful mother of God the media would have beaten it to death five times over before wednesday.

I like that the team is relatively healthy compared to the last two years, and we've seen recently that the passing game, running game, red zone defense, and special teams are all truly capable of making it happen. Now they just need to make it all click for one more game and they can bulldoze Mercury's neighborhood.

Yes yes yes! Favre would have brought the whole "Old Man River" making a charge final HURRAH thing. So with that said, I am glad we have the STANK Giants in te SUPERBOWL! Time to pick apart the middle! GO #83! I smell a new ring? GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice sig too :rocker:

The Giants are a much better team. They dominated GB tonight. They had the ball 40 to 22 minutes, allowed a rb who gained 200+ yards last week 28 this week, passed the ball at will against a dopey defensive scheme. the Giants are as good as any team in the league in the trenches on both sides of the ball and I was rooting like hell for the overrated Packers to pull one out of their @$$. We will have a bare knuckles brawl on our hands in the SB. Moss needs to pull his head out fo his behind.

Clearly the absence of Shockey has lit a fire in the Giant offense. I guess Eli prefers having Wrs who actually run routes as they're told instead of lolligagging around whining like Byatches, dropping the ball and getting stupid penalties.

I wanted Pack for the revenge factor but all in all, Lord Favre ballwashing for 2 wks wouldve made me puke, and on on top of that he can be a guy who is hard to naildown cuz when he's on a roll he is still hard to stop. There is the unfamiliarity aspect of Pats vs Pack....couldve worked either way. Plus, their DB's play press coverage, and wouldve been tough for our WR's

Rason why Gmen had passing success today was field conditions. WR's know where they are going, and DB are sitting on an island.

Anyhow, having said that, it is the Gmen, and I think stop the run and double Plastico = Pats romp. On O a decent run game can setup play action all night vs Gmen blitz. That's the key

I dont care how much pressure Gmen bring, Pats OL will be full strength.

Disagree...Would much rather have faced the Packers...Their defense to me is Jacksonville with slightly better corners.

The Giants can bring significant pressure on defense, are excellent against the run, and have the ability to beat us in the downfield passing game.

downfield passing with what ?

Amani Toomer, Mr Stone hands ? Only downfield threat they have is Plastico and he is hobbled.

Packers failed to exploit Gmen secondary and never stuck to run game. Lord Favre being impatient cost them the game. Just look at that pass in OT.

Yes Giants bring the heat, but with that they also expose the D, as in the case where Driver torched them for 90 yarder. It is yet to be seen how Eli will react to being on the biggest stage with the media circus that will follow next 2 wks.

i wouldve rather played the packers because playing them the first time this season we couldve presented some different looks. With the giants, eli and co have an idea how our D operates. Not to mention peyton who will be breaking down all the film for eli.

I agree also as BB is usually better prepared for a second contest, and unlike the last game of the season the Giants will have something on the line this time, that being said there is one more advantage this time.......

TB will not be focused on Moss and the TD records of Manning and Rice this will open up his focus to the rest of the receivers. So yes i like our chances against the New York Football Giants.
