If we win the super bowl, than it is almost a LOCK to say that we will open up the 2008 season at home against Pittsburgh. They always open the season with the defending champion playing at home and out of the 8 scheduled home opponents(Bills, Jets, Dolphins, Chiefs, Rams, Cardinals, Broncos, and Steelers) it is almost a certainty that it will be Pittsburgh. There's no way they want us playing an AFC East team after the seasons they had this year and the Steelers are a HUGE national draw and a team that we have had a history with the past 5 years or so. I think it is pretty much a lock that we open up at home on a thursday night against Pitt.

No. They'll save Pitt for later for ratings.

Uhh, you don't think opening night will get big ratings?

WHY ARE YOU STATING THIS AS A FACT?

It's definitely misleading considering nothing's official.

I would agree with you IF there was another game that would be intriguing, but there is none. The Colts had an upstart Saints team(at least a lot of people thought they were) to start the season this year. Outside of Pittsburgh, what team on our home schedule would be intriguing at all to a national audience? There is none.

I said it was a fact? Learn to read son. I said it was my opinion.

OK, Old Man. Your headline says "Pats to open 2008 season against Pitt at home". Does it make sense for me to make a topic that says "Patriots Win Super Bowl" and then go on to discuss why I think they'll win it?

a rematch of the jets would be cool to rub it in mangini's face, but they'd never do it

Lets win the SB in 2 weeks and than we can talk about who we open with.

HAHAHA... Absolute fact. Did you get the same impression I did? Why not 'Will the Pats open 2008 Season vs. Pitt at Home?' or '2008 Season Opener'?

Yeah it will but that doesn't negate the fact that what I said is true. I expect the Rams or Denver opening night

I can buy that; simply put, the Steelers are the only 2007 first place team we play at home next season (we play 3 on the road). But don't forget they matched us up against a crap Raiders team in the 2005 Season Opener, so there's no guarantee we will be pitted against a quality/playoff caliber opponent. That said, we have just a bit of history with those St Louis Rams, and given that the Broncos have done well against us over the years, they could also schedule them.
