That's silly. Ditka is entitled to his opinion. ESPN does enough drooling all over our Pats so one less doesn't hurt. Besides, at the end of the day what Ditka thinks doesn't mean anything. The team cheated and got caught, people are going to hate us for that alone.

First, no fan of the Pats would say the 'team' cheated. What player on the team cheated?

Second, the point is Ditka has been harping against the Pats all season. Other commentators are more objective in their evaluation of teams.

Ditka is really just doing the same thing as the 72 Dolphins are doing, protecting his turf. A lot of people think the 85 Bears were the best team ever, if (when) the Pats win the Super Bowl they are moved out of that spot.

I have a feeling some of these shows are a bit scripted - the director or whoever is in charge in a mid-week pre-show meeting tells Ditka to take the side of one team, Keyshawn to take the other team, and tells them to prepare for the show with that in mind. If all the analysts took one side it would be boring, and an entire market would hate the show and network. The exception is Tom Jackson, who appears to truly hate the Patriots and is getting closer and closer to an anheurysm with every Pats win.
