Uh-Oh This Patsfans website is apparently already starting to malfunction

I have seen some posters typing duplicate posts of the same, probably like I did because the site is slllooowwww and acting a bit awkward tonight.

I also see that the number of lurks posts get are also not working properly.

Mods - You might want to let Ian know there are already signs of some problems hopefully that won't wipe out this site tomorrow on Championship Sunday like it did last weekend.

ya my money is it's gonna crash tomorrow

Ditto Its already showing the same signs it was last week when it crashed. I hope it doesn't

I can reply to posts about 50% of the time now, the other 50% it just freezes up, and when I go to the massageboard page, the latest threads aren't changing.

To be fair - it must be tough following a game when a pretty good percentage of the football surfing world attempts to log in for the post game discussion in a year that the Pats are flirting with Football Immortality (upper case used to signify the potential of the Patriots becoming Football Gods)

No offense to Patriots Planet - but they just don't have the same caliber of discussion there as compared to here - and thus I think don't have the same influx of fans before, during and after games.

I'd be interested in knowing from Ian just what his peak independent users are following some of our big games - and how that potentially taxes the servers he relies upon

Yeah this site is great. It's by far and away the best fansite on the net, always active and interesting. If every member here sent him a dollar, he could get a new server too. ;)

Me too,I hope Ian is around the site tonight because it looks almost inevitable prpoblmes are going to occur especially when the BIG number of people come into the site.

Mods - Get in touch with Ian if you can,We need to get together at 7pm tomorrow and rejoice!!:rocker: or console each other :( ...

I agree on this site. they stick to football and Ian and the mods do a great job.

I agree on Patriot Planet that it's not the caliber of this site. There are so many off topic threads.

I wish the mods and Ian luck tomorrow

When I look at the index it shows that this thread has zero replies. Is everyone else seeing the same thing?

All of a sudden working better, thank goodness sooo disapointed last Sun morning when I went on and it was down..

The page called "New England Patriots Forums - Patsfans.com Fan Messageboard" says the most users online was last Sunday at 1797

I don't think that's some sort of limit though. I expect its more a matter of how much info is being requested by the people online, not necessarily how many there are. According to the new announcement he did some maintenance last night. Maybe the capacity is greater.

This Mod will be right here (warm, but envious of the above posted Mod).

BTW, had some PM's with Ian on Friday. He was expecting a MYSQL upgrade that afternoon and said he would notify all of us when to expect it - - because he would have to shut down the board during it. He was dependent on the tech telling him when it would happen. Evidently, it didn't take place Friday afternoon, but last night (at least I'm HOPING that's the reason for the site being down last night).

There is an announcement from Ian in the area ABOVE the Sticky area about the site upgrade schedule for between 4:am and 7:30 am. I know the site was definitely down when I tried it between around 10:30pm and midnight.

While last night was a bit annoying (a bit????), this is great news for the big picture today - - hopefully we are READY for the expected influx. The weather forecast for the game is 15 degrees at Gillette and a heavy troll storm here at patsfans.

I e-mailed Ian late last night regarding the situation.

Thanks again to Ian, and especially all the mods!!! We're so fortunate to have this site!
