I am more excited than anything else. I just love watching the Pats (and football in general) and it has been one hell of a year to enjoy. I am looking foward to them finishing this whole "Are they the best team ever?" debate with a resounding YES.

I'm speaking as a life long Patriots fan:

In 2001, the Rams were a much better team than the Patriots. The Pats took it all with heart and some great coaching. But that season should serve as hubris for any Pats fan. No one picked the Patriots in any of their play-off games and it was LAUGHABLE that the Patriots were going to beat the Rams in the Super Bowl.

Make no mistake, the Chargers CAN beat the Patriots. To think it's impossible is to forget the year that started it all for the Patriots.

Big difference is Mike Martz who did not adjust his gameplan to what BB was doing with Marshall Faulk.

that rams analogy I keep hearing about would make a little more sense if the chargers were in any way comparable to any pats team of the past.

This time last year I was nervous as hell. This year? Not so much. We beat this same team when they were completely healthy by 24 points. Brady is 7-0at home in the playoffs. There really is no reason to pick the Chargers in this game.
I hope the pats feel the same way. :)

To me, the point of the analogy is this: Don't get ****y just because the team you back has staggering numbers. This game still comes down to any given sunday. All the old cliches apply.

And if you want some comparison: I believe both the Chargers o this year and the Pats who won in 2001 started out 1-3, went on a huge run in the last 8 games of the season, then beat teams they were not supposed to in order to get through the play-offs.

Excitement no question....

Nervous, of course, it's the AFC Championship game....

I began to feel really good about this game the moment the Forecast changed and the wind speed was forecast to slow down to a reasonable 10-15 MPH or so. That will work to our advantage and keep every facet of our superior passing game in the playbook. That is HUGE...

As nervous as I am, I think we win big, really big this week.

I'm always terrified.

Well if they don't then why do their fans feel that way?

Because fans are falable. Just look at your own boards... You'll see just as many that are 100% confident that Ne CANT win this game. ;)

I'll be reading and posting on the game thread. At some point in the game, be it with the score still at 0-0 or with the Patriots up 540-0, the Chargers are going to make a play and get a first down. When that happens, some asshat will immediately start in with the "This defense sucks!"/"The linebackers are too old and slow"/"Player X is overrated!".

I'll let that asshat do my worrying for me.

I'm always nervous when it comes to playoff games. One loss and it's over.

The reason I feel really good is Belichick >>> Turner and Brady >>> Rivers.

If the Patriots lose I will have to take my life.

Well if they don't then why do their fans feel that way?

You don't know very much about this team do you? They'e been dealt a different distraction week after week. The media, the fans, and their friends and family are constantly telling them how good they are. There's a reason why no one has gotten this far before, because the players begin to buy their own hype. BB is no Wade Phillips. The players know that it's SB or bust and a simple off-day can ruin that dream. They respect their opponents unlike that Russian D-lineman of yours. The Pats will be ready for the Chargers tomorrow and we as Pats fans know this, giving us great confidence in our team.

Not nervous at all, we know this team and what we are getting. The boys just need to go out and play Patriots football......:D

I feel the same way. There is no reason to think that this San Diego team really has much of a chance. On paper this has potential blow out to it. I'm sure the Chargers will put up a fight in the first half but I can honestly see the Pats outscoring them 24-0 in the 2nd half.

Well if they don't then why do their fans feel that way?

Because the Pats aren't playing. Us being too confident will have no bearing on the game. I would have thought that after the Pats won 17 straight games you would realize that one thing about the Pats is they never overlook teams. I hope the Chargers are as clueless as their fans.

Au, contraire, mon freire. I know exactly who this team is and just how good they are. I know they respect the Bolts and are not even thinking they should win by 24. I know they, unlike you, know for certain this is not the same team they played back in week 2.

Bottom line, Bolts bring their game it's going down to the wire. I know for certain the pats know this.

Thanks for the comment , I will try to keep it to a min roar.. I think the defense will play well tom by the way...

If both teams "bring their game", New England wins by 21 or more. They are a healthier, more talented team, at home, in temperatures they are familiar with and haven't been traveling across the nation 2 weeks in a row. The key to this game for the Chargers is for them to "bring their game" and hope Brady and the Patriots don't.
