Is everyone else as nervous as me right now ? :help: :bricks:

A Lot all the Time for me. Barely functional, in fact.

This time last year I was nervous as hell. This year? Not so much. We beat this same team when they were completely healthy by 24 points. Brady is 7-0at home in the playoffs. There really is no reason to pick the Chargers in this game.

I think if anyone thinks New England is going to go in and just steamroll the Chargers out of the stadium you are an idiot IMO.

Despite the large spread and SDs injuries this is a hungry team looking for a Championship for the first time and being upset last year only adds to the cause and emotions these guys will have. - NE will be emotional too especially with the 17-0 mark but I would think the hungry team,at least early will be SD with NE wearing them down in the 4th quarter.

I think the huge spread is ridiculous.

I still think NE wins but not big.

More anxious than nervous I guess. I just want 3:00 Sunday to be here...

NOW!

The same as last week. It's start about 48 hours before game time. I try not to think about it and look for some distractions.

I go from confident, to having some doubts, and back and forth. By tomorrow afternoon it will be a race between the start of the game and my head exploding.

Nervous because this team is this best ever and the thought of a loss is absolutley devastating. I think they will be fine but being nervous is what makes us fans.

The same as last week.
More for me this week - I think the chance of a win is about the same (very good) but the stakes are much higher.

My options weren't shown - mildly nervous when the game is starting or when the Pats lead by less than 7, very nervous any time the Pats are behind, heart-poundingly nervous when the Pats are behind late in the 4th (a thankfully-rare situation this year)

[I know this poll applies specifically to the upcoming game, but I am like this for all games - it's only more severe when single-elimination time arrives :(]

Nervous when I think about the game. Each passing hour it gets worse for me. The more I hear about it the more i read about it, the more my stomach knots up. Sometimes I'll sit ready to throw up at the prospect of whats to come If we lose this game. So mush is at stake that it's hard not to be nervous.

i am going to the game tomorrow and i am very nervous and anxious!!!! i think i might need to "smoke" tonight to get the edge off so i can sleep lol

I'm not nervous at all. This is the greatest team in the history of the keague, playing at home, with the best qb & best coach in the league. This is a team that's full of players who have seen high pressure situations and played well in them.

There is just no chance that the Patriots lose, imo. None.

Nevertheless, I always get anxious before games, so I'll be hopped up as I watch.

I'm anxious for sure.

I sincerely believe the Patriots have the better chance of winning this game, but that doesn't mean a guarantee by any stretch. I'm a life long fan of the Sox and Patriots (and for anyone who followed them well before 2001 like me, you know that wasn't an easy thing!) but I finally understand what it's like to be (gulp) a Yankee's fan. It's not JUST the heartbreak of losing, but knowing that a VAST majority of the country is just salivating at the thought of your team coming up short. Fans from every other football city in the country complain about how "Patriots Bias" has crept into all of the media, but let's face it: The Pats are a smart pick with the way they've played and broken records. If the Pats lose tomorrow, those same prognosticators that are accused of being on the Pats jock will line up like hungry jackals to feed on the corpse and talk about how it was all for naught.

So, in short, yes: I'm nervous. But I think that nervousness is compounded by the fact that so many are licking their lips, just waiting to make that lose even harder for the fans of New England to swallow.

you sound like a fan of the 2001 Rams;)

Not nervous at all, we know this team and what we are getting. The boys just need to go out and play Patriots football......:D

I'm nervous as hell all the time. You do realize that if we lose tomorrow the Super Chargers will be our new rivals, and to be honest, I like the Colts players and fans way more than the Super Chargers. I really don't want to deal with them all the time except for the annual thumping we give them.

Really? Mike Martz was the best coach in the league in 2001? The Rams were as battle tested as the Pats? The Rams were playing at home in the SB? In cold weather? Against a west-coast team?

Please.

I'm speaking as a life long Patriots fan:

In 2001, the Rams were a much better team than the Patriots. The Pats took it all with heart and some great coaching. But that season should serve as hubris for any Pats fan. No one picked the Patriots in any of their play-off games and it was LAUGHABLE that the Patriots were going to beat the Rams in the Super Bowl.

Make no mistake, the Chargers CAN beat the Patriots. To think it's impossible is to forget the year that started it all for the Patriots.

I keep telling myself not to be nervous, even if we're down by 14 points in the first half.

It doesn't really work. I'll probably steal one of the gf's Xanax tomorrow.
