It was a terrible call. Leave it at that.

Watch the video to the end. (you will be glad you did)

The ref is of course going to attempt to vindicate himself. It was a bad call. Addai was out of the play and there was as much holding by both of them. It's a call the Colts get because Peyton Manning runs over and yells at the official that he or someone got held... anywhere else, that doesn't happen. And I'm not usually the conspiracy type, but the penalties in that game were ridiculous. Where's the video explaining the phantom pass interference call?

I know you did not watch the video. Actually watch it to the very end, you will be glad you did.

LOL, I'm just wondering what call in the 2nd half they gave back to the Chargers. :D

Make-Up Calls and Made-Up Calls

The nice thing about make-up calls
- WHEN THEY OCCUR -
is it shows that that official is trying to play it straight.

As you inquire, where was a make-up call in this game?
Just made-up calls!

I can't stand Periera but he is COMPLETELY right on that one. There was a hold at the beginning of the return.

Agreed. The hold that was called was marginal, a 50/50 call that probably doesn't get called in most cases. However, he is definitely right that the hold on Gonzalez should have been the call and actually would have sent the Chargers back another 15-20 yards.

I would have liked to have seen some comment on the PI call, but they never go in to the calls that were 100% bogus. There's just no justifying that call.

florence was holding but he excuses a horrible holding call on the fact that someone else was holding. it's a cop out for his crew. Unless they mistook Florence for Weddle then this explination holds no ground. There's holding on every play of every game, not all of them are called. My point is that the Weddle hold was blown, the touchdown should have counted, but I would have no problem if the call was called on Florence, but it wasn't so it was blown.

Not really. If Florence was holding but Weddle wasn't then there was no injustice.

Horrible officiating but no injustice, because the correct call would have had the exact same result.

My question is this... Since there was holding by both teams, if both are called, does the TD stand? or would they just add 10 yards to where Cro picked off the pass from?

You could say that on almost every play though...

if you wanted to be a d i c k ref...

I didn't like his response. I don't believe he saw the other hold when he first watched it.

He is a master at deflecting issues. While watching Offical Review I feel I'm fighting off a Jedi Mind Trick he uses.

"This isn't the call you're mad about."
"There's no foul here, let us move on."

My feeling is that Periera and his staff looked at the play like some looked at the Zaputer film. The were looking for an infraction that would make the questionable call moot. Eureka, we found a hold. It's a miracle.

I'm surprised they didn't go over the PI call against the Chargers and explain where there was contact or at least show a better angle than the TV cameras.

Exactly, why doesn't the clown go over this one? And the whole, someone else held, so it's all OK belies the fact that his crew blew two calls on the play. What a ****ing clown he is. If anyone has a link to the PI call explanation, please post it. I'd like to see what vodoo logic he uses to explain that abomination.
