Everyone knows the NFL is a copycat league, so which teams do you think have the best chance of performing like the Patriots ie: every game, every play, 60 minutes and then on to the next one. To me it might be the Jags or Cleveland if RC can get some defensive help.

Whichever team is having a great season next year.

The media did it to this year's Colts team with the injuries and such.

THe Pats have the best chance. easy 2k8 schedule. wouldnt surprise me if they started out 7-0..then the media goes nuts..

then again, after 1-0 ...they will

The New York Giants. I think Tom Coughlin has a similar mentality as Belichick. I'm glad their team has been successful in the post-season after he was criticized for playing his starters in Week 17.

I think we'll be visiting San Diego or Seattle very early. We'll get Gm1 at home on a Thursday night. Provided we win the Super Bowl. Tuna bringing his Fish in? They can't justify a 1-15 team. So, I'll say Denver. Damn, our home schedule is easy. Steelers are the only team that made the playoffs in 07. Denver and Arizona could improve enough to make it next year I guess.

Buffalo
Miami
Jets
Pittsburgh
Denver
KC
Arizona
St. Louis

Just remember, big swings and big shocks are not rare in the NFL, in fact they tend to happen quite a bit every single year. The Giants were picked by many to be a bad team this season, New Orleans fell off the map, the Packers weren't expected to be NEARLY this good, many felt Tampa Bay was going to be a bottom feeder, San Fran was expected to make the playoffs, people were calling for Romeo's job in Cleveland, the Ravens were 13-3 last year, KC made the playoffs a season ago, some felt the Jets were going to challenge that Pats in the East this year.

Year to year the NFL flops all over itself (with a few exceptions, the Pats and Colts, along with a few other pretty consistent teams). I would expect a few of those 'easy' home games to look a lot harder come the week of the game in 2008.

I think our division is going to be pretty strong next year.

I have a feeling that Buffalo will be impressive, and Miami will finally get the monkey off their back.

no love for the team you face tomorrow?

I am always amused when opposing teams are now introduced as a "TEAM". Don't they know it's obvious they're just copying the Patriots?

Miami will be horrible again next year unless they can trade for an above average QB. If not, they won't win more than 4-5 games.

I am also willing to bet that the NFL Players Association has an intense dislike for the way the Patriot organization works. With key players like Brady taking home-town discounts and all. Let's just say this spreads to other organizations. It will not help the free agency cause at all....I feel so bad for Gene Upchuck

They lost a lot of games by 3 points and had some injuries. They get some early picks in the draft and Big Tuna's influence, I don't think 6 games is out of the question.

Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers looked good taking over for Favre in limited time this year and the rest of their team is very young and very good.

So I posted, but didn't actually address the topic of the thread. I'd guess one of two teams (and unfortunately they're both in the AFC):

Chargers
Jags

One has the second most talent in the league and is finding their stride with a new coach, the other is young and powerful with a smart QB who plays within the system (sound like anyone from, say, 6 years ago?).

The questions I'd have, however, hinge around both coaches (I don't consider either one worthy of carrying Belichick's dirty hoodie) as well as the Chargers ability to turn their negative energy into a positive. Rivers' whining, Merriman's showboating and LdT's classing it up all the time need to be changed for them to have the 'team' mentality the Pats were first famous for in 2001.

OK...but we're splitting hairs here, aren't we?;)

Who is the next team to have a Tom Brady? Not gonna happen for quite a while.

Lots of teams will try to emulate what we do, but the wheels will come off the cart.

Garrard looks cool under fire so maybe he's our closest competitor.

i have been getting a little more respect for tom these past few weeks. however, he still clearly has a discipline problem. if he were to fix that, the yes i could agree with you.

First of all, following the Pats lead requires a Coach/QB combo that is for the ages.

If I look around the league, I don't think there is any Coach/QB duo that comes near to stacking up, insofar as we can judge some of the younger coaches.

Eli is starting to look like the QB the Giants thought they had drafted, but I don't think Coughlin is anywhere near as smart as Belichick, though he deserves props for chaning his style this year and allowing the giants to reach or exceed their potential.

Turner and Rivers? Turner has been around a good while and hasn't shown the brilliance of BB. Rivers is a flake, with moments of greatness and then stupidity.

Phillips and Romo? Puhleeze. Neither one looks like the real deal. Romo, to paraphrase George Steinbrenner, looks like Mr. November and December, but forget about it in January. Phillips? Enough said.

McCarthy and Favre? McCarthy might have the goods based on his first season but Favre is at the end of his career, so we'll never know.

DelRio and Gerrard? I'd say a big no for Gerrard. Jury's out on Del Rio.

Fox and Delhomme? Delhomme hasn't made it happen yet. Fox is 51--45.

Dungy and Manning. Dungy's mind is elsewhere. Peyton's great but he's only gotten it done once.

Rat and Clemmington. Come on.

Tomlin and Big Ben. Ben has been consistently inconsistent and Tomlin was definitely looking like a deer in the headlights this season, tho we should give him time.

Fisher and Young. Jury's out on Young. Fisher's 115--99.

Holmgren has proven that you can never go home again. Andy Reid's chances dissipated with his personal problems and McNabb's decline.

Have I missed anything?
