Reiss has it up now..Mel Mitchell is OUT and brady and rodney are probable......good to see so few names on it but a bummer about mitchell. Sproles worries me a bit on returns and a 100% healthy special teams would help.

Alright!!! I get to do it first....

Brady has a shoulder injury??? What? Good God, I hope he plays.:D

The Patriots released their Friday injury report:

Out
S Mel Mitchell (arm)

Probable
QB Tom Brady (right shoulder)
S Rodney Harrison (thigh)

Mitchell is a top special teams player, playing on most units. There are several candidates who could fill that role, with cornerback Antwain Spann and safety Ray Ventrone a few possibilities.

When does the SD injury report come out? That's the one we should be interested in.

Rivers' knee worse than cited; status unchanged

Philip Rivers' knee injury is more severe than what has been described by the Chargers, as sources said today the quarterback has a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

But that does not mean his prognosis for playing in Sunday's AFC Championship Game is any worse than when the team simply classified his injury as a sprained medial collateral ligament. Rivers is still expected to test the knee Sunday morning to determine whether he can play against the New England Patriots.

“It'll be day-to-day,” General Manager A.J. Smith said. “We're going down the same road as (Antonio) Gates.” Gates played last Sunday at Indianapolis after a pre-game workout to test his dislocated big toe.

Rivers was on the practice field this morning for the first time this week, wearing a brace on his right knee. There was no brace on his left knee, on which he has played the past 5½ games with a sprained MCL. During the portion of practice open to the media, he threw passes with the first team.

“It always falls on the player,” Smith said. “The doctors and medical people do so much. The coach and general manager are on the outside. The ultimate decisions is the player's – unless he physically can't go or it will do harm for your future.”

Smith, as he always does, declined to discuss the specific injury. But he said, “We would never jeopardize any player.”
