I say we root for Giants. Easier opponent. I know it will be the whole "NY-Boston" deal and I live in NJ so it'll be two weeks of non-stop adulation of the Giants but with Favre in the Super Bowl - media is going to basically have a 2 week org*sm over it!

I can't stomach 2 weeks of Brett. Granted he's a good guy, but the Giants fought thier way up. I'm taking the G-men.

I'm rooting for the Giants, I have been since that great battle they gave us in the last game of the season. They deserve it for playing the game the way its supposed to be played. None of this resting BS, thats what the offseason is for.

I hear ya but if we beat Greenbay we come full circle.that would give us victories over all the playoff teams exceot Tampa and Tennessee, plus revenge for 1996..But Ill take the Giants so we can eliminate another Manning..

Giants do nothing for me. Bring on Green Bay... I want revenge for 12 years ago.

Giants all the way

Giants have been impressive but I can't root for a guy named Elisha, aka Sheli, or a guy that's in some Oreos licking league.

Gotta go for Green Bay and old man Favre.

From a homer standpoint, I'd rather face the Giants, because I don't think they're as good and also we know BB's history when facing an opponent for the second time in a season (especially since the last one was so recently).

But really, I think a Patriots-Packers Superbowl would be a whole lot of fun for everyone, and the football fan in me would really love to see this game, so I think that's what I'm rooting for.

Agree 100% - a chance to vanquish another Manning makes this a no brainer. What stupid faces, when the crap hits the fan, they both put on. Must be great to be their teammate when things are going bad, as they eventually will.

:ditto:

Couldn't of said it better. I'll be for the Giants but I know that facing the Packers in the SB would be a much better spectacle.

Another thing from a homer stand point... Packers fans travel well so if the Giants win that means more tickets for Pats fans.

It's Greenbay for me. I would love to see a Brady and Favre Superbowl. I'm Manning'ed out for this season. Favre has had a great year, he deserves to be there.

Plus Green Bay is a team we have not played this season. If the Pats go 19-0, let it be against as many of the playoff teams as possible.

Well hopefully we win this weekend, and have the honor of going to the superbowl.

Yea, I echo the same thoughts. I'm quickly reminded of a thread on Indy Star that started right after the Pat's beat the Jags and Colts fans were posting "Well, looks like we're headed to NE for the AFCCG". Meanwhile, they hadn't even taken the field yet against the Chargers......and look how that turned out.

I understand that what's posted on a message board has no impact on the outcome of games, but at the same time they certainly provide potential for looking pretty silly should the game not yet played go the wrong way.

Pat's take care of business first with San Diego.....then I suppose thinking of SB matchups becomes more relavant. JMO of course.

I want the matchup that was meant to be: Brady vs. Favre, payback for 1996. This bring the Kraft dynasty full circle.

I think for intelligent fans, "if we win this weekend" is kind of a given. Considering both games are played back to back, by the time it would actually be appropriate to discuss it by this standard, it would soon be rhetorical anyways. I don't think it's unreasonable to discuss who we'd rather match up with, should we make it.

I, for one, am not looking past the Chargers.

good post.

If we play the Giants after we beat the Chargers, I have a feeling all the Patriot haters out there would say something stupid like the SB was handed to the Pats since we didn't have to play the Colts, Packers or Cowboys in the playoffs this year. Therefore, I would prefer to have Green Bay win the NFC.
