Im not sure if already posted but this just in fron the National weather service

VERY COLD AIR IS STILL SLATED TO ARRIVE ON SUNDAY AND LAST THROUGH
MONDAY. HOWEVER...THE MODELS HAVE SIGNIFICANTLY BACKED OFF ON THE
AMOUNT OF WIND POTENTIAL FOR SUNDAY...BY ALMOST HALF. IT DOESN/T
APPEAR THAT THE GRADIENT IS AS TIGHT AS PREVIOUSLY MODELED...DUE IN
PART TO A FURTHER EAST AND WEAKER COASTAL STORM. ALSO...THE STRONG
CAA LOOKS TO LAG TIL AFTER SUNSET. AS A RESULT...BOOSTED HIGH TEMPS A
BIT AND CUT BACK ON WINDS. TEMPS ARE STILL EXPECTED TO DROP DURING
THE AFTERNOON WITH A FEW SNOW SHOWERS POSSIBLE.

WINDS WILL BE 10-20 MPH AT MOST DURING THE GAME.

DAMMMMM, I wish i was gonna be there. Excitement is building!!!

I'm still not sure whether wind helps or hurts us but I am confident that we're the better team so the better conditions (especially wind) the better for us as it removes a possible evening out factor. I still think Brady will adjust to the wind better than Rivers/Volek, though.

This is good news, linky?

Wooohooo, I just landed tickets in section 127!

Mr. Classy better not think of even coming near the goalline at the closed end. Trouble awaits!

YES! :rocker:
if this prediction holds ... my worry factor drops from 8 to about 5 :D

Re: Great News (weather update)

You just brought tears to my eyes. This is the best news of the day.
I was/am extremely nervous about this game with the wind.
Now I hope the flu holds off.

It's New England, so the weather report I trust will be the one given to me directly before the game starts, I'm just trying to tune out all the ones which come before. Would it shock anyone if we're back up to gale force winds tomorrow? Me neither.

I see no way that wind could help us. example A being the Ravens game. even 10-20 mph is not good

Are you kidding............... Less wind helps US big time. With primarily cold temps being the main issue (instead of wind), the "weather" advantage decidedly shifts away from SD (a S. Cali based team) to NE.

.... add to that the west to east cross-country flight (after last weeks), and the road just keeps getting steeper.

Like I said, I'm generally happy with this news if it sticks. However Brady has a better arm and more experience in wind than Rivers/Volek. We also have more short pass options with Gates hobbled or out and Tomlinson maybe in and out (Turner is a good RB but not the receiver Tomlinson is). Regarding Baltimore, those winds were quite a bit worse than the winds we'd been hearing about for this week.

Anyway, I am hoping for as calm a day as possible but given our offenses I'm not sure a lot of wind hurts us.

You can live with that because the wind is less on the field.

But over 20 mph you get swirling effect.

I'm not a meteorologist, but I can tell you that high wind in M&T Bank Stadium is different than it is in Gillette. The two stadiums could not be any different from a layout standout, and while I'm not sure how it affects each differently, I don't think it's a good comparison.

I live in DC and was at the Ravens game, and it was really swirling around in that bowl there, I imagine it would be quite different at Gillette.

What are you planning on doing if he does?

OP did you manually type in this part? I didn't find it in the link (also it struck me as a weird thing for NWS to say)

WINDS WILL BE 10-20 MPH AT MOST DURING THE GAME.

Everywhere i look they say winds over 20 mph...not ideal.
