Just curious as to how nervous Pats fans are for the game. As the week goes on, I keep getting more antsy and nervous about the game.

I'm probably at a 6 on the scale. Then again, I'm always nervous about playoff games.

7ish. I of course believe the Pats will win but I feel it will be a close game.

I'm at a 7 right now. It was worse before.

Did you say Sandy Eggo?

It's the playoffs...10. I was at about a 7 before the SD game earlier this season, I haven't been above about an 8 since then (the Indy game), but all bets are off during the playoffs. All it takes is a performance like the Denver one from 2 years ago or the Indy one (second half) from last year and the dream season is over.

I'd be more worried if the Chargers weren't as banged up as they are, or if they weren't traveling so much and heading into a deep freeze to get here.

So, right now I'm at about a 5 or 6.

Rationally? 7.. My actual state of mind? 10. Not because I think the Chargers measure up to the Pats, but it's a playoff game - I'm always a 10. Compound that with the fact that every game since about 2 months ago has felt like a playoff game in a normal year because of the undefeated season, and needless to say I'm watching my cholesterol this week.

Thankfully, how much I'm worried isn't worth a hoot. I'm always worried about playoff games since it's one & done. I don't know how to rate my state of worriedness:confused:

It feels the same as it always does...I'm freakn' worried...and psyched at the same time. Probably the same as any other Pats or Bolts fan feels.

Precisely. I think that's perfectly natural anytime a person cares deeply about something which they have absolutely no control over. Diehard fans probably spend as much of the week thinking about the game as the players do (which is kind of sad, for those of us with jobs), but when Sunday comes, our state of mind is completely irrelevant. It's human nature to worry about something in which you have a stake but no influence.

I don't know why, but this is the first game of the year I've had jitters about. Maybe because of the magnitude or maybe reliving nightmares from last years AFCCG, but I want Sunday to be OVER.

8 now, 9 friday, 10 saturday, 10 sunday

i'm always a nervous wreck, regardless of who we play.

Who? The Chargers? Please, they better be worried about us!

Have had an irrational bad feeling about this game all week... I know the reasons why the Pats will win... but I'm not confident about it like I have been in the past. Guess I've been buying this 'nothing to lose' argument the Charger fans have been shoveling.

Worried about the Chargers beating us based on the matchup is about 2 or maybe 3, mostly based on their ability to force turnovers and their ability to neutralize opponents passing game (70 point opponent QB rating, ranked #1). Another 1 point because losing would mean I don't get to see the Pats play in the Super Bowl. The remaining 6 is due to the life-long Red Sox fan in me; the thought of having to hear about it the loss for the rest of my life, which would be often since I no longer live in New England and most everyone else is very jealous of the Pats success.

Chargers do have arguably the most talented roster from 1-53. Im an "8" for this game, largely because I have no idea which Charger team is going to show up, the one who beat the defending champs on the road or the one that started 1-3.
