The attorney representing Rachelle Washington, who filed a temporary restraining order against Randy Moss, released a statement today:
NBCSports.com has the text of the statement from David McGill, which reads:
"For the past 11 years, Ms. Washington has cared deeply for Mr. Moss and has been there for him throughout all of his trials and tribulations. However, she refuses to be further disrespected by him. It has never been her intention to hurt Mr. Moss in any way. However, she has suffered mental and physical harm as a result of his actions. She simply wants him to take responsibility for what he has done. As a battery victim, she has shown great strength throughout this entire ordeal.
"Ms. Washington has been unfairly characterized as someone simply seeking financial gain. In fact, it was Mr. Moss' representatives who first contacted our office to offer a "six figure" settlement with hopes of not having this incident become public record.
"We have heard Mr. Moss' statement regarding the incident. He has acknowledged that he was at Ms. Washington's Florida residence and that he was "guilty" of an "accident" which occurred. However, Mr. Moss fails to mention how his reckless and degrading conduct rendered Ms. Washington unable to drive her vehicle to seek medical attention. As the evidence will show, there is serious doubt that Mr. Moss is capable of recalling with clarity the exact details of what transpired that evening. As Mr. Moss has previously stated, "Do your homework and check his resume.
"We look forward to presenting all of the evidence at the court hearing on January 28, 2008."

How is some one "guilty" of an accident.:p

Re: Statement Regarding Moss..Via Reiss

They're making an awful lot of theater for what's only a restraining order hearing...

Re: Statement Regarding Moss..Via Reiss

Well, apparently she was well enough to communicate with her attorney, which I presume means she would be well enough to, if she wasn't able to drive herself to seek medical care, to, I dunno, contact someone who could take her? :bricks:

I.e., He was drunk and/or high at the time....this is going to get unnecessarily ugly, and it's going to hit Moss bigtime in the wallet.

Re: Statement Regarding Moss..Via Reiss

I love how they're implying Randy was either hammered or drugged out enough where he wouldn't recall what happened. Can't wait to hear what "evidence" they have to support this veiled accusation.

"rendered Ms. Washington unable to drive her vehicle"

sounds like she went through a hell of an ordeal.

Why? Are you saying you buy all of this without proof?

This probably means she was drunk too. How dare you pour her alcohol Randy Moss!!!

Re: Statement Regarding Moss..Via Reiss

However, she refuses to be further disrespected by him.

That's the money quote, IMO.

Re: Statement Regarding Moss..Via Reiss

well hopefully this means moss is going to be eager to play on sunday.
and that hes going to bring his A+++ play insted of his A++ play :rocker:

Re: Statement Regarding Moss..Via Reiss

Do we have a date when the "accident" occurred? Was this a year ago? A month ago? When?

If this is going back a ways, then it is a huge "non-story" issue. Moss is addressing the situation perfectly from a PR perspective. He has aknowledged a situation occurred, he accepts any responsibility and he won't say more than he needs to.

The burden of proof will be on their shoulders now. Moss should just let his lawyers deal with this and focus on football.

Yup. The only thing that has me a little concerned is them stating that Moss's people contacted them first about a 6 figure settlement. If true and that's a BIG if, it sounds like they couldn't agree on how much that settlement would be which would also indicate he was guilty of "something".

Re: Statement Regarding Moss..Via Reiss

This may be a stupid question, but does this really matter? She's not suing him for anything, she just wants a restraining order, right? So, technically, he doesn't even need to fight this. He only needs to do anything if he wants to clear his name.

Now, she doesn't even have enough money for medical insurance and she wants to get into a legal battle with a guy who can pay for a top notch legal team vs her ambulance chaser atty? She gets dumber by the minute.

10 or 11 days ago.. jan 6 or 7 according to his lawyer.

Just when you almost get over being disgusted with the media, lawyers prove they can sink lower. The gold digger is the woman's legal counsel.

This is the entire point. There is no "beyond a reasonable doubt" barrier for that hearing. The judge just has to hear enough to believe that there is a chance this woman is in danger from Moss. They can say whatever they want without the burden of proof, unless their story just doesn't make any sense.
