Did you guys see the first play 2 weeks ago, when the majority of hte o-line moved across teh field...

i loved it!!!

i think teams should do more crazy things like this. In fact a play like that, run correctly, should yeild at least 4 or 5 yards.

If Vince Young ran, that would have guarenteed it

Yeah, but where did it get Norm Chow?

If the defense played it differently it could have been an almost guarnteed sack with minimal risk. the 4 o linemen did not need to be covered in the flat. If the de linemen stayed where they normal line up it would have been an easy sack but they were concerned about a screen and all covered it. if one or 2 hadn't it would have been a sack easy and the other players would have had to cover the screen just in case the qb got of the pass before the sack.

Why would you want to run a play where the OL runs away from the QB?
What do you call that, a 60 Stretch Faaaahhhhlllllohhh?
Good way to get the QB killed.

I can't recall ever seeing anything like that before, and didn't even know it was legal... I would've loved it if it had worked!

Not worth the risk of having your QB killed. It was nice to look at but a bit too out there for me.

It was Vince Young, they expect him to carry the ball routinely.

And it was the first play of teh game, they ran it to shake up SD and get into their heads.

thats why you do it with a running QB, with 2 blockers...the Defense will follow the line, in fear of the pass...

Its called a muddle huddle, we used it in HighSchool on 2 point conversions, its not new. This was back in the late 80's.
