Peter King makes his Conference Championship picks

And we all know what happened in snowy Green Bay last Saturday -- no sacks, two quarterback pressures from a Seattle front four on a team that finished second in the league in sacks.

Is he using something like "sacks per pass attempt," 'cause the Seahawks didn't finish with the second most sacks in the league.

I found this interesting from King:

The Patriots are 13-0 at Gillette since mid-2006.

If memory serves, wasn't it the Chargers that broke the Patriots last home field winning streak? Not that I'm saying they'll do it on Sunday, although they have a chance. I just found that comment interesting.

More interesting is that the Pats are unbeaten on the new Field Turf <knock on wood>

Yeah, that team had Duane Starks, Chad Brown and Monty Beisel on it.
This is a different team.

King's got it right, here. I agree with his take on the game... like he says, "We know how that script has played out."

Last week’s win for us didn’t make me feel too good at all. Our secondary was playing like a bunch of 3rd stringers and Randy Moss seemed way to distracted for his own good.

Our defense is so old I have to turn away when watching sometimes. I just don’t like the way things are working right now. Eli is getting really hot DUE to us, the Chargers pull off a miracle win in Indy and Randy Moss is getting in trouble.

I’m expecting another heart wrenching squeaker this weekend, to the tune of 24-17. Hopefully we’ll be on the good end of that score.

I mean and if we do win, what does that even say about us? Great we beat a injured Chargers team at home, NOW we have to play hot as can be Eli or Brett. If we don't cover the spread, we should all be concerned.

I'm not into this whole "Oh, were 17-0" shut up, as far as I'm concerned we're 0-0.

So go call EEI with the other complainers. The defense held a team that was second in the league in scoring throughout the 2nd half of the season to it's lowest output in what was it? 9 weeks? and they did that basically playing vanilla and stopping the run, which they did.

Did you say this before you knew of the allegations ? How many passes did he drop ? Oh, right, zero. How can he "seem distracted" when they didn't go to him all night ? Or did you watch his distracted pass routes all night ?

Jets last year?

Jets last year?

He was talking about the Pats' 21-game home winning streak, and, yes, it was the Chargers that were on the winning side of the score in that one.

Yeah, but didn't that team already win 2 Superbowls (at least 1) by that time already?

Last I check, this team with Welker/Moss hasn't yet... but it's looking good so far.

Someone explain to me what this "Field Turf" stuff is... all I know is natural grass and Astroturf.

Starks, Beisel, and Brown weren't on any of the Superbowl teams. That team lost Ty Law, Tedy Bruschi (for most of the year), and Ted Johnson and I think Seymour was hurt in the first quarter of that game not to mention Dillon was hobbled all year in 05 and we didn't have Moss.

Sure. When Monty Beisel and Chad Brown were at ILB, no Rodney Harrison, no Vince Wilfork, No Tedy Bruschi and Brady was throwing to Branch and Givens, not Moss, Stallworth and Welker.

That's a real stretch.

Perhaps his distracted blocks on the perimeter for Maroney's big gains?

:)

The distraction thing is easy to jump on now and is awfully coincidental. However it seems like coincidence is all is was as, you say, Moss was active in other ways. Good thing he wasn't distracted on that big 4th down catch he had. They asked Fauria about it last night and he said that it was the attention that Jacksonville gave to Moss, not any distraction, that caused his 1 catch game.
