The Bolts are a different team. What surprised me today was how easy the Bolts hit the long plays. Also, did you notice that Rivers always threw the ball high, so only his tall receiver would have a shot at the ball. That could cause us problems. The Bolts D still seems a bit weak.

Personally, I think next week will be like last week.

Congrats to the Chargers. I hate them, but I do respect them for beating the Colts w/out LT, Gates, or Rivers for parts of the game. Indy got the refs and fake crowd noise, and still lost.

But, thanks to Indy, LT probably won't be 100% and might not play. Rivers won't be 100% and Gates is hobbled.

LT looked like he either sprained or torn a ligament in his knee. If LT is out, the Chargers pose no real threat to beat the Pats. The Chargers defense didn't look really good, but stepped up when needed. I would only recommend, don't throw Cromrartie's way. The guy is an animal. The only Charger I like.

I think the injuries are too much for the Bolts to overcome. Even if they were healthy, they wouldn't worry me much.

Pats-38 Chargers-17 is what I am expecting.

Even if the Chargers were 100% healthy, they would still have little chance of winning. But as you mentioned, with those 3 guys at less than best, I'm thinking BB will Blitz the crap out of Rivers and force him to hurry throws. On the other hand, Turner is a good RB and they're recievers did step up today and make some good plays.

Very little chance from someone who does not have a dog in the fight.

I think that it will be a good game. The Chargers will bring their best, but I think that our guys will be up for the Challenge. I'm not a big fan of the Chargers, but it was disgusting to see how the refs tried to rob them tonight.
I expect a hard fought game.

The Chargers did not generate much of a pass rush. Michael Turner is pretty good. I'm not convinced on Rivers. He does good things and then bad decisions. He's wicked immature. Chambers and Jackson will be tough matchups. it will be interested to see what BB comes up for as a defensive game plan. I think it will be balanced and I don't see him leaving the corners out to dry. I expect deep safties with Rodney around the line of scrimagge on 3rd and long in the Nickel.

Offensively the Pats are gonna spread them out and I'm not impressed by the Shawn's, they didn't consistently get a pass rush and I expect the Pats to wear them out by the 3rd quarter.

it is great that the Chargers must fly back to the west coast then they need to fly back across country on saturday. they have one day less of rest plus three of their top players on offense are banged up.

Sproles needs to be kept in check, he could be a game breaker.

I don't expect much blitzing until the 3rd quarter. I expect a chess match much like the Jags game. giving up nothing deep. i expect a 4 man rush mainly. keep in mind AD had a big INT and TD last time these two teams played

I think our defensive gameplan will be similar to what we saw versus the Jags (little to no blitzing). Focus on taking away their running game and force Rivers or Volek to generate 30+ points. I like our chances.

Thanks NEFan. Good to hear a little props from someone. God knows the CBS clowns would never give the Chargers any credit. Playing on the road, in a dome, against a much better QB, and we're out our QB and RB. Yet do they give us credit? No, they just say Indy had a horrible game. Here's to a good game next weekend! :eat3:

(This may deserve its own thread if the mods think its necessary.)

Just saw the weather report for next weekend. Arctic temperatures projected on the early forecast with snow starting on Friday.

"You Stay Warm, San Diego."

Rivers being out is a plus for the Chargers.

Oooo! Snow! I hope Rivers doesn't start yapping to the fans again. It could get ugly.

As for the game, the Pats will not be able run the same defense they did last night in terms of loading up against the run if Mr. Gates is even half way healthy. He and Chambers can stretch the field from their respective positions more than any of the guys on the Jags could/did.

That's correct. I also think it's highly unlikely the Bolts will have the same defensive game plan the Jags did last night. If SD lets TB go 26/28 it will probably be a long day for SD. I think SD will have essentially the same game plan they had in the last post season game.

i see SD going to the blitz...a LOT

and brady will still have a field day with these wr's....there are just not enough good db's for SD to overcome all the wr's....i see us doing a spread formation for most of the game, and having about 17 rushes by LoMo, and a couple by faulk, but leaving primarily a passing game

Well, thats what SD does vs NE. They blitz. I'm hoping that our line and some successfull runs keep them in check and guessing though. maroney has come on really strong in the last few weeks, and Brady is as accurate as ever.

Good focus and execution as done vs the Jags will net a victory me thinks.

The same one they used in week two?

In all fairness, they knocked the cobwebs off after the 1-3 start. Not to say they are playing the same as they did last season, but they are playing really well on defense.

I'm hoping for another good injury free game. Should be good, their D has come on strong and their O has done much better.

I still think that NE can get into Rivers head and cause some sophomore mistakes. Guess we'll find out in 7 days! :rocker: :rocker:

Really well on defense? They gave up 446 yards. Two tipped passes and the game would have been different. Neither defense played really well.

I think the Chargers grew up a lot today. I still don't think they'll win Sunday, but it's hard not to be impressed with what they did especially with all those BS calls Polians Ponies got.
