Anybody still worried about this?

I think its safe to say Bradys back to his good old self finding the open man :D

which means all the nervous Nellie's and their hundreds of gut wrenching "Tom's blowing it going to Moss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" posts from a few weeks ago were all UNFOUNDED, RIDICULOUS takes.

No, it was pretty obvious that Brady was zeroing in on Moss, Reiss covered it well.

I didn't expect it would continue. Remember, Brady was quoted as saying 'It's finally over' after the Giants game. He was in a really tough spot, if he got 50 TDs and didn't get Randy 23 TDs then as a team leader he'd have to worry about looking selfish.

Luckily everything worked out and without the record in the back of his head Brady did spread the ball around much more.

went right over your head...I didn't say THAT at all...I said there were hundreds of gut wrenching posts here from fans who thought that Brady was somehow morphing into a Randy Moss personal servant...it was OBVIOUS that Brady was trying to get Moss the record just as it was obvious all along that when the playoffs rolled around and the games actually mattered again, that Brady would be EXACTLY who he has always been

Wait a minute you mean that Brady isn't going to try to force the ball to Moss in close games in the playoffs? WHAT! I mean if he did it while chasing records in games that they had a big lead or games that meant nothing to the playoff race, that means he must be changing into a bad QB damnit!

Maybe, moving forward, we can get less of those knee-jerk posts about things like "Maroney is terrible" and "Brady needs to stop focing to Moss"

I can't believe anyone was actually worried about Brady anyway lol

I'm more worried that NSA and Danny88 are gonna go around breaking windows in their neighborhood because of their hatred of glass

I'm more worried about the Patriots red zone defense next week.

Well I'm always nervous, but I don't think we should worry much. They have shown good red zone defense the 2nd half and good enough today to limit Jax to only 2 TD's. The gameplan and schemes will be geared more to stopping the pass next week if we face the Colts so I expect the secondary to play better.

Worried? Not in the slightest, but let's not rewrite history. The stats and the tape doesn't lie, Tommy got Moss-vision a bit much those last four games.

If anything it actually made me feel more confident going into this game. I felt confident all week long that we'd see much better ball distribution tonight because there were no records hanging in the balance. And we did.

I think that, having led his team to 16-0, that we can say Tom Brady deserves to make whatever choices he likes. After all, the choices that he made did win 16 games. So critiquing one particular aspect of his performance which as a whole is so completely successful is exposing a general lack of understanding that 'performances' of any kind in any business and sport are a complex combination of trade-offs. It is generally almost impossible to break this complex combination apart and be able to say that changing a particular facet would be even more successful. Just think back to how many sports teams or businesses that were so successful and then in astonishly short order - one season to the next for a sports team or a matter of months or a year or so for a business to go sour.

In the particular case of Brady and Moss, do you really think that you can critique a few throws versus the whole body of work for the season ? For gosh sakes, the totallity of Brady's decisions with regard to Moss set records for both Brady and Moss AND the all-time NFL record of most QB-Receiver TDs in a season. AND was an integral part of a 16-0 season. Don't think any particular critique has any merit.

Who is doing that? Who is saying that a few throws casts a shadow over Brady's season? Brady had the best season of any QB in the history of the game, there is really no overstating that.

But to somehow try to say that absolves him of criticism is not only foolhardy but goes completely against what our own coach and the player himself have done game in and game out. Brady played the best season of any QB ever, but he was not perfect.

Also before some dummy has a knee-jerk reaction can we be mature enough to realize there is a difference between criticism and identifying areas of improvement or concern? Lord knows there is no QB I'd want on this team other than Tom Brady.

I think he was forcing it into Moss and I don't blame him, he had to because of what I said-he is selfless enough to not want to get the passing TD record without also getting the receiving record for his teammate. I think that is an admirable trait. Obviously winning the game is foremost in Brady's mind but getting Randy the record was clearly a priority.

The point, which I probably obliterated by all the verbage, was:

What was different about him throwing the ball to Randy Moss late in the season versus earlier in the season ?? I presume you are an avid fan and watched all the games. I really doubt that you could say that MANY of those earlier throws in the season weren't even more 'forced' than the ones where it became popular to critcize late in the season. Man - so MANY of those earlier season throws were into double coverage or glue-tight single coverage and took such unbelievable catches (including one-handed !! ) that I really take objection to folks singling out the last few games as being different than the first part of the season. I believe, if you look at it, the only thing different was that fans and pundits were conscious of the records and were looking to make the critique if Brady made throws in the last few games that were, indeed, nothing different than he had done earlier in the season. Really.
