LoMo was as close to lights-out as I've ever seen him. I saw purpose. I saw power. I saw speed. I saw acceleration. When he hit those holes (with the exception of a couple of times) he was like a ramrod and kept the stutter stepping to a minimum. Very impressed with his performance tonight. And down by the goal line when he kept driving and driving his legs. Awesome to see.

The offensive line played great and the receivers were out in front with some great blocks, and Maroney was brilliant. There were at least two runs where I thought he was going to break it. When he gets into the open field he is fast. Can't remember the last running back the Patriots had who showed that blazing speed. Guess this might silence the draft McFadden crowd.

Is this really needed? Seriously, I know there are some fans among us who've given Maroney sh*t for a while, but some of us have been supporters since the 2005-2006 college season. The same goes for Meriweather, some of us suggested the Patriots draft him back in Febuary 2007, so I wouldn't start thumping my chest. Yea, I'm pretty happy to have picked NE's first rounders accurately two years in a row, and I'm happy to see them both playing well in the playoffs, but I'm not going to try and rub it into those who where late to the show...

I will say that I've got absolutely zero time for posters like NSA who were calling Maroney a bust, and claimed he sucked. It's funny that NSA hasn't shown his face around these parts all that much lately...

There's a difference between people being late to the party and people being the ridiculous asshats that we saw bagging on Maroney. No player's perfect (Not even Brady), but the way those so-called fans were bashing a player on the team they claim to be fans of was ridiculous under the circumstances (Perfect record, etc.).

Who is NSA? I also suggessted that the Pats draft Chad Jackson and so far he isn't doing much. However, Jackson has a lot of talent and still believe he will be something special. I will admit Maroney was the only pick that I predicted correctly in recent years. Actually, Maroney is the only pick that I was ever right on. So I am not perfect.

I only say this because a lot of people thought I was pulling it out of my a** when I suggessted the Pats draft a runner.

Notice NSA and Danny 88 have disappeared? We were right all along about these two...undercover Jet trolls

Yep. And guess what? If Maroney disappears, it's for a reason. Save the milk carton. It just means the receptions are coming easy.

We do have improvement too. I think it might take a reminder or two now and then, still... but he seems to get it about hitting the hole, and just as much to the point, the Pats seem to get it that pure inside running is not the only duty he's suited to. But I also maintain that even with a steady diet of inside running, getting his 4.2 or so per carry is pretty phenomenal. No wonder he's excelling when they let him loose a little.

I don't care whether his stats ever do carry your fantasy team, a la Addai. The question has always been: does he do what we need of him? And I have not seen many games in which you can answer that "no."

In fact, I'm pretty sure we didn't lose any games this year due to LoMo ;)

That's absurd, at least about Danny. He's a nincompoop, but to call somebody a Jets fan is so ridiculous that it makes my head hurt. Are you on the booze tonight? Are you paranoid? Do you see Jets fans in your closet?

The kid is finding himself and it couldn't come at a better time. He had a great game tonight, did everything I ever expected him to be able to do, and gave the Jags a dose of their own medicine. Great play calling too.

The Pats play "soft" and don't stick it up there? How stupid does that statement look now?

Don't forget that not giving him the ball 250-300 times in the regular season keeps him looking like this in January when we need him the most.

If we keep him at this pace and find a great replacement when Faulk retires (Jacob Hester?), Maroney could be with us for a very long time.

I agree wit u.Maroney was running like a mad man tonight. He may have heard some of the BS being said about him on this site.Hopefully there is plenty more of where that came from.Keep killing them Maroney!

Nope...I just notice similarities in posts from people there that approximate the missing "pats" fans that were here until their ONE negative soap box issue disintegrated into the ether.

BTW, why your head would hurt by my post is amazing in its sensitivity...are you a bubble boy or something...of course you're the "glass is half empty" type Pats fan so maybe THAT'S why you're so screwed up...Pats winning hurts, eh?

I can see Maroney taking faulks spot and us grabbing mcfadden if he falls to the 7th spot.

I think your crystal ball is a little cloudy.

Did everyone forget that we still have Sammy Morris? Not sure of his contract status, but if he's back here next year then I highly doubt they'd need to look for any more help in the running game.

Morris is signed through the 2010 season. So, NE won't have to worry about either Maroney or Morris hitting free agency until 2011.

LoMo's been bringing it for a few weeks, but I noticed he's really gotten low on some power runs after hits.

He's obviously been working on this and it will really pay dividends in short yardage.

I still think Marion Barber or Steven Jackson was running in LoMo's shoes tonight....:D

Just kiddin',I'll give the kid credit when credit is due,This was BY FAR his best game as a pro and best since last years (2006) Cincinnati game.

Since you say it's BY FAR his best game as a pro, wouldn't that make it his best game since...ever...and not just best since the Cincy game?
