JAGS BRING EXTRA TECH HELP

One of our moles in Foxboro/ough tells us that the Jags have brought extra tech guys to the game to ensure that there aren't any unforeseen "glitches" with the communications equipment.

The Jaguars, as we hear it, are particularly concerned about the coach-to-quarterback communication equipment, which has a habit of going dead for road teams at Gillette Stadium.

please tell me this is a joke. pathetic. kind of like Norv Turner LITERALLY hiding his playbook and keeping everything with his team info secret

Casserly just said this is standard procedure in the playoffs. Nice "Find" PFT...

a-hole.

Actually it is a rule now after last year that visiting teams must bring their own tech guys to ensure that there are no communications problems becasue supposedly last year Jags were losing communication on their third downs.

Yeah, he said they made a rule in the cc after we bounced them in '06 and they claimed they had problems on 3rd downs. Now all visiting playoff teams bring their own tech guy.

I always wonder with this conspiracy how it would theoretically work. Would BB tell the tech guy to cut it during a 3rd down? If so he'd be picked up by the NFL films boom mics. Also I'm sure that numerous people handle the mics, it's not like Pioli or someone is behind the scenes flicking switches. Someone would have left their job and blabbed about it by now. Stupid.

Pisses me off. Brady couldn't communicate with the sidelines all game at Indy this year. No one says anything. You see QB not able to communicate every game at every stadium. But they bring it up about us.

F*ck them, f*ck all of them.

Makes me wonder, in this era of technology, why they go out so much.

I have no idea but even given that, they can signal in the plays; it's not THAT big of a deal. And no-one mentions that the reason they went to headsets was to prevent signal stealing - well if it was such a problem then why was the camera such a big deal as the headsets basically define that sign stealing was prevalent. This whole thing makes me so angry.

They must mean someone smart enough to plug the headsets back in when someone on the sideline accidently trips and disconnects it.

I thought that during Spygate, ugly word, that it came out that the NFL controlled the coach to qb communication and it was out of the hands of the home team to avoid problems.

Probably made up like every other thing that **** bag posts on his site. I'm sure if pressed he would attribute it to what he heard in "league circles".

Again, still waiting for Florio to open a "fact mill" on his crappy website.

Florio is completely devoid of credibility. "Moss is on the bubble" should be proof of that enough.

Interesting. I had heard in the past that the radio link to the QB was via a system provided and operated by the NFL, not the local team facilities. Anybody got a reference to something like that ?

And I have definitely heard several times that if one team's QB link goes down, that the officials immediately shut off the other team's link also.

This current media commentary has the markings of a conspiracy theory that doesn't fit in with the actual system in use.
