OK, I'm putting up, and I'm putting up quality rock and roll. What have you got?

This video (Thunderstruck, AC/DC) has unusually good photography - live at Donnington. Starts off with shot from behind the stage as Angus jumps on it and raises his fist to the crowd. The crowd is berserk and there is palpabale energy crackling in the air as he starts his signature riff.

Thunderstruck builds its energy in waves with a long instrumental part. Oddly, just when you hear the first "Thunderstruck" Angus' hat is blown off by the wind. They are the thunder.

This also features great camera angles of Angus' typical romps around the stage while playing. This performance is an A+ performance, including the cinematography.

Also live at Donnington: Money Talks, one of the great rythms ever.

you would think, that at the biggest sports event in the world, they would have someone decent to entertain at the half. acdc is almost impossible to obtain, thus it would make it all that much more great to have them.

Why is ACDC impossible? Seems to me they've been off the map for a long long time.

Brian had one killer album in his pipes, and it's been 27 years since then... He can still sing songs off that album but it's a shame they couldn't put another one together.

That's OK though, some others only have one great song.

Oh, and really, let's face it, the Super Bowl is not the biggest sports event in the world. Not even close.

Is there really any debate about this? Everything's been downhill since they peaked with "Up With People"

The halftime show isn’t to really entertain the average football fan, since the NFL already knows they’ll be watching the game.

It’s for the wife/non-fan who will have a reason to watch the Super Bowl to say, see Justin Timerlake at halftime and watch the commercials.

I have no problem with that.

AC/DC would be great, but Tom Petty is much better than any Half Time show since U2.

Who was halftime for the Bucs/Raiders Super Bowl? I didn't even watch the game casue I was in Korea and it wasn't worth waking up for.

No halftime show will top U2 in 2001, I don't care who they get. Does anybody watch halftime shows? I was at SB 38 during the wardrobe "malfunction" and was glad I was getting a beer. Personally while I would have loved to have U2 at halftime of the SB I went to I am sort of glad 38 had such a pathetic halftime show....I went to see the Pats play and win not to see a concert. Tough to hold in all that beer for a half, let alone a whole game if you don't have the pathetic halftime show to miss.

It is kind of funny though how BAD halftime shows are for the SB...is Paula Abdul really going to be on the halftime show...whats the matter they couldn't get anyone with a hit in the last 20 years to lipsync something?

I try to find something else to do when the halftime show comes on. I almost always hate the music. It adds nothing to my enjoyment of the game.

I've been turned off to the halftime show ever since the "Boot Scoot Boogie" assault on my eardrums from the early to mid 90's.

Anyung hasayo.

Tom Petty would be great too.

That is hello, right? I was stationed there for only a year, and forgot most of the Korean I learned. I miss the food, though. There's no other meal like beef bulgogi and kimchi. And no other drink like lemon Soju :D

At my house when halftime starts, the football geeks move to refuel with food and gas, taking a break from TV. Those who could give a rats arse about the game are glued to the TV for the halftime show. As stated in another post, it's for those who are interested in the spectacle of the SB rather than the outcome of the game. The great thing about the SB is that it attracts all viewers and has really become the American holiday for celebrating the national pastime.

Saying that, I could care less about halftime entertainment, as I haven't ever watched it. The game eclipses anything else on that day. Nothing else compares.

Angus rocks. AC/DC CDs are not easy to come by in HK. I'm planning on loading up on them while in RI this week since they're not on itunes.

Usually I agree, but the U2 show was really something. For me, anyway. I can watch it on the XXXVI DVD and still remember how I was feeling that day. The primary feeling was "The Pats. Are Up. And It's HALFTIME! "
