Look for a Jabar TD, and maybe a 100 yard game. He comes up bigger the longer the season (and last year, the postseason) goes on. And if these clowns have any sense at all, they'll double Moss and hang all over him. Moss will get his, ditto Welker.. but I predict the postseason Gaffney surge to begin this weekend.

Gaffney, Stallworth, Watson, it could be any of them. But I expect the three to combine for about 150 yards.

100 yards to Gaffney?

Unless he has an 80 yarder in there, you are nuts!

Look for Welker who is going to be virtually free in the slot all day to gain 140 yards or more,Thats the guy who will be the big WR in this game.

Ok...i gotta ask, are we officially retiring moss

Nice props for Gaffney from TFB.

Jabar work key

"Speaking of receivers, Tom Brady [stats] isn’t surprised by Jabar Gaffney [stats]’s second-half surge. Gaffney did the same thing last year after joining the team, and was one of Brady’s go-to guys and playmakers during the postseason.

“He’s had a great role on this team since he got here in the bye week last season. He was a starter by the end of the year, played really well in the playoffs,” Brady said of Gaffney, who has caught 24 passes for 351 yards and four touchdowns in Weeks 11 through 16. “He came here earlier in the season and fought for a job. He can really do a lot of things. His position versatility is extremely important to us. He can play in the slot, he can play outside, he can do a lot of things very well.

“He’s quick, he’s fast, he’s got good hands, he’s big enough to go against small defensive backs and he’s quick enough to go against big defensive backs.”

That's the beauty of the Patriot offense. Gaffney could have a game like that. Or it could be Stallworth....or Moss......or Welker....or Watson....
That's why they're so good. In any given game or on any given play any of these receivers can make a big play or have a huge game.

Mathis who will be on Moss is a great cover man,I do not expect Moss to have a big game but he will be a factor by the other guys in the sdecondary paying attention to him and thus springing Welker wide open many times.

I'm with you on this one. Jabar has everything that it takes to sneak in under the radar and catch 10. He's a "been there, done that" playoff guy.

I also think we see more of Stallworth and Watson early in the game just to give the Jags something to think about. Let's just say it's no secret that they'll game-plan to stop Randy and Wes. OK, so you go, boys. Stop 'em. Big deal is what I have to say.

He's not nuts - he's giving some credit to the Jags for doing what they literally HAVE to do to slow down the machine. We know they are going to double up on Wes and Randy, right? So let's just pick who our guys are that are going to step up and make plays in that case. Gaffney is as good as anybody else in that role. He caught ten against the Colts in the playoffs, so I don't get why somebody is nuts for calling his number again.

OTOH, you present the opinion that Wes will be unstoppable, and I've also heard other opinions like this because of who he matches with. You may be right too. I hope you are because if they can't stop Wes, that means they are a Chinese Fire Drill waiting for a place to happen.

Mathis who will be on Moss is a great cover man
Actually Football Outsiders says he wasn't as good this year :

"Remember what I said last week about Rashean Mathis: Last year, Mathis had a 57 percent Success Rate and allowed 6.3 yards per pass. In our (incomplete) charting data so far for 2007, Mathis has a 47 percent Success Rate and allows 7.3 yards per pass. If you want standard stats instead, Mathis has dropped from 21 passes defensed and eight interceptions to six passes defensed and one interception. (Yes, Mathis had more interceptions in one playoff game than he did in 16 regular-season games.)"

When I said 150 for the "other" guys, I forgot to say I expect 100 each from Moss and Welker. 350 for Brady today.

I expect Chad Jackson will come up big. Probably 8 for 140.
