You know, the "everyone disrespects us card" doesn't fly at as high an altitude after a couple weeks of "undefeated Pats - best of all time?", BB winning coach of the year & Brady winning MVP.

Does Sports Ill have to run a cover titled "We all love the Patriots" before you realize that it isn't you against the world, anymore?

1 guy did not vote for Tom Brady as the MVP. Maybe the guys can use that as bulletin board material?

That's a pretty mild statement from a national media guy.

Schlereth did not pick them, mind you (that I know of.) He just said they have a great chance to beat us. That's a non-statement except to support the NFL as a competitive league, IMO.

Football players seem to need to play the "angry young man" game. Expect them to find a way. It will turn out to be something harmless and they will focus on it as if it is a big insult.

It's overused if you ask me. Fans pick up on it and react to the slightest provocation. Fans can turn the most harmless statement into WWIII. In the case of fans I think many of them cannot handle their fear or losing, and they cover it up this way. It's all a mental game, and it doesn't even look good to me.

The whole FredEx thing exposed this to me. The guy told a joke and it got turned inside-out into a serious challenge. First the media misrepresented the joke, and then the fans did not do due dilligence on it before deciding the media was accurate. They launched into the most vicious, infantile rants I've ever seen, and it was all about a joke.

We talk about the No Fun League? Holy crap, it's no fun if you tell a joke about the Patriots. I thought it was pretty funny too. I thought it was a great chance to raise the game to another level, but instead guys like Rodney dragged it down into the same old "we're pissed and insulted" routine.

Sad. Football players are like pit bulls sometimes. You try to pet them and they react as if you're the enemy.

Marshall Faulk looks as uncomfortable saying good things about the Pats as Joey Budifucco would saying good things about Amy Fisher.

There is a strained look to his smile that must cost him a day of living every time he straps it on.

Every time I see Marshall Faulk I think of Willie tackling him (when he didn't have the ball) in the fourth quarter. I cannot ever forget that play. Willie looked like he might be a goat on that play, but in reality that was the penalty to take.

And now we know why. What a play though. Marshall had no shot against the Pats. Marshall wasn't really the big man in his SBs that he'd like to think.

Wow, you Colts fans are a confusing bunch. All we've heard ALL season long from you guys is how much "the whole nation" hates Belichick, Brady and the entire Patriots organization.

Post after post about how everywhere Colts fans travel, they all come back with the same story of how fans of other teams come up to them saying "I hope you guys beat those cheaters"....blah, blah, blah.

So, which is it? Are the Patriots "hated" or is "the world" on our side now?

Does it make it easier for you all to argue BOTH sides of a situation?

IIRC, Pats fans think he's a hater, but Eisen mentioned (on Dan Patrick show) that Faulk blew air in his hands and went poof, saying that is how easily NE will roll Jax.

It was when Jax was up 18 on Pitt, Eisen looked at Faulk and stated that at least Jax might give NE a game.

He's just a jealous ex player who's jealous as hell of the Pats success particularly because he was on the losing end of one of the first Pats SuperBowl win. Just a bitter jealous commentator. He can JGFH.
