Hey,

I was just comparing the stats between Gaffney and Stallworth since the bye week and found it very interesting.

Gaffney
REC 21
Yards 307
TDs 4

Stallworth
REC 13
Yards 188
TDs 0

I'm interested to see if Gaffney steps it up in the playoffs, as I believe he did last year

I think this is going to be Stallworths time to shine. Remember, last year Gaffney was not even on the radar. Same is basically true of Stallworth now.

I think people take numbers too seriously. Its the same as colvin the guys was always undervalued. HIm in the run defence was giving 86yrd a game and without him 136 yrds i think .

stallworth on the field force defences to cover him with a cb and as 1 safety is behind moss the other one has to play cover 2 and plays deep as people have seen him run after catch and break tackles.

gaffney in 4 WR usually gets the dime package coverage guy.this forces gaffney lined up in single coverage by a LB or 4th CB ......In a few games we did see stallworth in and out.....when out and gaffney lines up outside he was singled and the safety droppin giving run support and underneath coverage limiting wes.

In this case I think that's a fair complaint. Numbers do not tell the whole story.

I like Gaffney though, and am always pleased when he impacts a game. Still, I can see that his job is made easier (as you detailed) by Stallworth being on the field.

Is there a big difference between 49 and 50 TD passes by a QB? Not really. Let's get real about the numbers - they're fun, they're instructive in a certain context, but they are not the total definition of a player's contributions.

Im a big Stallworth fan, but do like Gaffney, but those stats are telling, Gaffney has stepped up..

Gaffney is starting over Stallworth now. That may something to do with it. Not sure why he got bumped. Probably just been working harder.

If the Pats have not been showing their hand like has been reported. It is exciting to think that there is something in the works that involes Stallworth.

If he wants to get PAID, he better step up. He's a free agent this offseason. Asante better step up too if he wants that Contract.

I agree with you. With Brady & Moss breaking their records,Stallworth is definitely going to light it up.I want Stallworth to kill the Jags with his yards after the catch.

I think if Brady doesn't throw that 50th TD pass, and we lose to the Giants, then yeah, that one pass makes a big difference.

Yeah, it isn't as though being App-Pro meant he was one of the two top CBs in hte league this year or something.

if Asante steps up any more..his head might hit the moon. hes been our best D player consistently all year..him and Wilfork. and pass rush is not the reason this year because we've had some trouble at times when we dont blitz Vrabel every play
