"A postseason defeat might even turn 16-0 into a pop culture catch phrase signifying a run of achievement far over shadowed by a recent misstep. By that statement even Jamie Lynn spears went 16-0"

Umm...I actually think that's kind of funny.

Pathetic. You go 16-0 and people are just worrying about what happens if they lose.

Ask Tom Brady what 16-0 without 19-0 means. He'll tell you it means nothing. Anything less than another trophy is a failure. This team is good enough to win another trophy, so anything less isn't acceptable.

Exploiting a 16 year old kid to give themselves headlines.

Classless.

A 16 year-old kid who's gonna be a mother in a few weeks by choice. If you want to feel sorry for someone, save it for the kid.:(

Yes, it's a failure, but a loss certainly wouldn't make 16-0 mean "nothing". And I guarantee you that Brady would agree with me in the future, but right now, before the season is fully over, he can't let him think any differently than what he said.

I haven't followed this story much, but I assume "by choice" doesn't mean she decided one day she wanted to have a child immediately. I assume that was he choice once she found herself pregnant, which is a wholly different matter. but she is in such a better position to be able to cope than 99.9% of pregnant teenagers that I don't see any reason to feel sorry for the kid. Just don't let Aunt Britney babysit :)

I wouldn't go that far, it would be immensely disappointing but those guys accomplished history and something that no one ever really thought a team would do in today's NFL. Tom and others may put off that impression in their press conferences and interviews, but I think deep down each of those guys are proud of what they accomplished and wouldn't feel it meant "nothing" if they ultimately didn't win the championship.

we all know that ,the patriots know it, so why bring it up, do you think we would have a advantage over the jags if we were 15 and 1???

No, the point is that the only value the regular season has to the Pats is playoff seeding, and possibly just creating a winning mindset. Do I think anything would be different if they'd lost a game this season? No. I'd think there chances of winning it all were exactly the same.

No that would be the family member who (if the press is to be believed) has already sold the rights and pictures for the unborn child............

ESPN talking about Jamie Spears is like a whore talking about a slut.

Not worth the time to listen to.......

A postseason defeat will mean whatever people want it to mean: Anything and everything.

Everybody will have an opinion based upon their entrenched beliefs about the team.

i understand the 16 part, but what does the 0 part mean?

for spears i mean...it doesn't quite make sense.

I think it's her rating on the common sense meter.

I think it meant 16 years (ages 0 thru 16), 0 kids

I feel bad for the kid. she did ride her sisters coat tails but nobody deserves that stuff including Brittney. My kids all listened to Brittney for a time and have watched Jamie's on Nick or whatever, I mean tell me you would not want some of that success for your kid if it was offered? They could have made better choices for sure and that is probably the parents fault but the media should just tune out. I really don't think any of it is funny.
