It's basically been "all Pats all the time" since they picked up Thomas & Stallworth, but especially since they got Moss. I've never enjoyed being so hated.

Forget about the idiot who voted for Favre for MVP. I want to know who voted for Welker (and why). Granted, Brady was the obvious choice, but you could definitely make a case for the Pats' new slot machine.

I really dont think you can though...as Offensive Player of the Year?? Nah...he had a great year, but there were other players, including a couple of receivers, who were more deserving of that award.

I didn't say it was the *best* case. I just meant that it was *a* valid case.

Think about it for a moment: a lot of people talk about the fact that there's no way Welker would catch 112 passes without Moss there to draw away coverage. While I won't argue that point, I would also argue that Moss might not have his 23 TDs if Welker weren't there to draw coverage away from Moss. (Remember--on the go-ahead TD against the Giants, Moss was open because the Giants had sold out to stop Welker from picking up the first down.) Combine that with his ability to block DBs and smaller LBs, and I can understand why someone voted for him (even though, I admit, I wouldn't have myself). Oh, one other thing--Welker caught 77% of the passes thrown in his direction. That, in and of itself, is almost unheard of, and a good number of the ones he didn't catch were uncatchable anyways.

Yeah...I guess you could make a case, but I just think Offensive Player of the Year is not the Probowl, its not about being one of the best, its a level above that...its about being THE best. IMHO we cant make a case for him being the best offensive player in the league. Dont get me wrong though, Welker was amazing this year...so at least I can understand where someone's coming from if they think there's a case ot be made for him.

I could easily have taken him over Peterson, simply by looking at Peterson's falling back to earth over the second half of the season.

I know all the awards mean next to nothing (just ask Brady if he'd rather have this award or another SB ring), but it's damn impressive that three of the four who received votes came from the same team. I'm wondering if that's happened before...maybe Emmitt-Troy-Irvin? Warner-Holt-Faulk? I did a quick search but couldn't come up with anything. Looking through the individual seasons when those groups were together, there's no one season when all three were absolutely dominant the way Moss, Brady and Welker were this season.

Either way, that's mighty impressive, and of course congrats to Brady, Moss, Welker, and the rest of the Patriots for the best season (so far) ever.

I'm curious how the argument could be made for Favre for OPOY. I understand the MVP logic the voter used, although I don't agree with it. However, how can anyone claim in any way, shape, or form that Favre had a better offensive season than Brady did? How can that possibly be defended?

Didn't Wayne simply get all of his normal catches plus Harrison's? Oversimplification, sure, but Moss did have to share more with somebody (Welker) than Wayne did. Also, seems like I've seen Wayne takes a play off now and then, something Moss used to be accused of. But then, Wayne shows up big time a play later and still has a huge game. Just meandering I guess, Wayne is really good.

I haven't bothered checking but was Favre's 1 vote from the same voter who gave him an MVP vote? Because if it was..then he negates his reasons for considering Favre an MVP(i.e. more than numbers, value to the team etc...) and proves that he's either a Favre homer or a Pats hater. Offensive Player of the year is strictly as statistical award...one that Favre has NO BUSINESS being in contention for. It really was and should've been a 2 man race from the get go..record breaking QB or the record breaking WR.
