IMO, There isn't a CB in the league that could cover Randy Moss one-on-one all night without getting burned several times. I doubt Jax is that dumb, but then again, one never knows.

Lets see - You are comparing the defending of a 2nd year average WR in Holmes to a bonafide HOF WR in Randy Moss? - BTW Ward is more of a deep threat then Holmes in the games I've seen

i was going to disagree and then i remembered..Champ Bailey covered Moss 1on1 last year in Oakland when i saw a game and Moss got past him 3-4 times that game where you saw the ball get thrown. He had a drop, an overthrow twice. Bailey had his hands full when Bailey was the best last year.
the Jag fans are trying to decide which player will cover Welker..i heard Aaron Glenn..but many disagreed. I heard Terry Cousin..but they said he gets burned a lot but tackles well. I heard Scott Starks whos fast and quick but he cant tackle very well and hes young..not sure how hes gonna cover a veteran who runs great routes.

Holmes is far better than "average". I'm also unsure as to what games you saw considering Holmes is far and away Pitt's best deep threat. Ward isn't even in the top 2 deep threats on Pitt at this point.
All that said, Jax will use a safety on Moss for most downs if they want to have any chance.

Obviously Moss is a much better player than Holmes..the reason why I bring this up is because Holmes is a poor mans Moss, so they me be strategized against similarly. And Holmes is a better deep threat than Ward.

They'll put Mathis on him with Nelson over the top. One thing that people seem to forget in the Baltimore and Philly games is that they both had a set of Pro Bowl caliber CBs in Brown/Sheppard & Rolle/McAllister. Neither set played much together because of injuries and other circumstances but thay played the NE game. Rolle/McAllister played maybe 5 games total together this year and neither played after the NE game and Brown/Sheppard didn't play alot together no one metiones this as a reason why their teams didn't do to good this year but did well against the Patriots kinda like the Bears versus GB with Tillman/Vasher with one or both injured most of the season but both played the GB games and they won. Also if Moss doesn't drop a couple and doesn't get a OPI called against him has a big game in both cases.
Holmes is actually a very good receiver. I'm not sure why people feel the need to dengrate him while pointing out that Moss is better. There aren't many receivers that Moss isn't better than.

If it's windy like the Jets and Ravens games, then they'll leave Mathis one-on-one, figuring that any throws over 25 yards will not be thrown accurately. Otherwise I would think they have to leave a deep safety who's cheating towards Moss' side.
I'd love to see Maroney force the Jags to bring their safeties into the box. No Stroud, a limping Henderson and likely no Peterson means Jax isn't their usually stout self up the gut. If Maroney can slash up the middle early on, it should open up play-action to help the Pats jump out to a fast lead.
