With my Steelers blowing the game against Jacksonville, I am pulling for you to knock out those jagoff pretenders. But besides that, I am pulling for your Patriots to do the unimaginable... Your team has the opportunity to give you fans a source of pride that will literally last you the rest of your lives. I was a young man in my 20's during the great 70's Steeler teams and here 30 years later those accomplishments still burn very bright. Years from now you will understand how important this 00s Patriot teams is to the community, a sense of pride knowing you are part of one of the best NFL teams in history. If your Patriots get their 4th ring and complete the 19-0 impossible season, this Pittsburgh boy will be the first to admit, that the New England Patriots of the 00 decade, IS the greatest team ever in the NFL. I wish you the best of luck, and I THANK YOU for the excitement you have brought to the NFL this year.

Thanks for the post and your kind wishes.

Thanks very much. So many want my team to lose, that it's nice to read such words. Much appreciated.

Great words from a classy fan that has "been there".

Surprisingly, it seems like everyone I know who's a Steeler fan is pulling for the Patriots to go undefeated. Sort of surprising, but I guess I'd be pissed at the Jaguars, Steelers fans hate the Colts... and then I'd root for the AFC team in the Super Bowl, so I guess I'd do it in the same position.

As much as a lot of us get heated at each other, I think most pats fans respect the rivalry with Pitt and the Colts. I know it was hard for a lot of people to admit, but I was pulling for Pitt against Seattle a few years ago, b/c they're a tough, hard nosed team year in and out, with a great history. Indy winning last year as well, only adds to the difficulty we went through in beating them in 03 and 04.

Wow, this comes as a complete surprise. I guess I just always assumed that the Patriots were absolutely hated in the Pittsburgh area. For you to come here and tell us how you feel, man I have to really tip my hat to you and say thank you.

I will be honest and tell you that I was pulling for the Jags to win that game, simply because I didn't want to give Big Ben and the revenge-minded Steelers another shot at us. I feel our chances of beating the Jags are much better than they would have been against your Steelers.

As far as NFL entertainment goes. You are so right. As a matter of fact, I have stated as such that I feel that the Patriots, whether loved or hated, have generated SO MUCH interest in the NFL this year that they have set television viewing records in I think 4 of their games this year. They have been the most talked about football team I think in the history of this league. I cannot even remember a team being vilified and/or loved and talked about as much as this team and I've been an NFL fan for 30 years.

The NFL has padded their bank account this year BECAUSE OF THE PATRIOTS, now cut that bonus check to Mr. Kraft............

But besides that, I am pulling for your Patriots to do the unimaginable...

It's going to be interesting, that's for sure. Imagine how final a loss is in the playoffs, and then magnify that by 2. It's going to be hairy if a game goes down to the wire. It's not just about the playoffs now - it's about history, and all that stuff that adds a bunch of pressure.

I guess you are the type of guy to ask another team to do the work your team couldn't? We own the Steelers.

Dude, at least the Steelers HAVE done something and have a RECENT super bowl win under their belts. Jags have NEVER done anything, EV-AH. I'll gladly take a Steeler compliment with the respect it deserves.

It's a little premature of you to talk sh!t, since as an organization, you've done exactly SQUAT.

Why the backhanded slap? I admire him for sucking it up, coming on here and wishing us luck. It was very nice of him to do. There's no need to say something like that.

I certainly hope that we win a supebowl or two by the time the Jags franchise reaches the age of both the Steelers and Pats. We have been one of the more succesful expansion franshises of all time since our inception though....so we got that going for us.:)

You realize you have absolutely no chance this Saturday night right?

Panthers started the same year and have made it to a super bowl already ;).

Something just occurred to me. Do Jacksonville fans hold any resentment towards NE for '96?

Your jinx isn't fooling anyone, guy.

Regards,
Chris

I guess we shouldn't play then. How dissapointing.

probably not. All season long, fans like yourself have come here talking sh!t then when we accurately predict we will win they say "I guess we don't even need to play the game then?" As a matter of fact, no, you don't need to play the game.

Lot's of class down there in the Land of Cotton. Try being gracious, especially as you may have beaten the Steelers but you never owned them.
