From Tomase's article"
The Patriots [team stats] usually need to contrive bulletin board material.
Not this week.
The Jacksonville Jaguars [team stats] are making it easy on them, thanks to Camera-gate.

On the Jaguars’ official Web site, the Patriots rate No. 1 in the power rankings, but their 16-0 season includes an asterisk which reads, “cheated in one game.”
And turning back the clock to that September scandal, few players in the league were more outspoken than Jaguars defensive lineman Paul Spicer.

“They’re the ones that have to pay the consequences for it,” he said in September. “If that’s the way they feel like they have to get the upper hand, then so be it. Everybody’s been running around calling them geniuses for years. What are they going to say now?”

Hehehehe!

Re: Spicer's comments on Pats/camergate

Read that this morning, amazing how many people stuck their noses where they did not belong.. who the f is spicer???

Re: Spicer's comments on Pats/camergate

I was trying to find the rankings on jags.com but couldn't see a link. Anyone find it?

Re: Spicer's comments on Pats/camergate

I'm not seeing it either.

Though a colleague did bring in a NYC paper last week that had that stupid asterisk.

Re: Spicer's comments on Pats/camergate

oww, i sawus winning by 20.....make that at least 24

Re: Spicer's comments on Pats/camergate

We must make sure that this finds it's way to Gillette Stadium.

Re: Spicer's comments on Pats/camergate

Somebody here predicted that Spicer would be the guy to run his mouth. Good call.

He made those comments after week one. Lets see if he says anything this week. I hope he (or someone else) does.

Re: Spicer's comments on Pats/camergate

That's unbelieveable.

Re: Spicer's comments on Pats/camergate

I have a feeling that BB and co will find a way to have the players see these ignorant uneducated comments everyday.
Practice, after game preparation, perhaps before and after weight lifting.
This is just what BB and co thrive on and he will definitely make them remember.

Re: Spicer's comments on Pats/camergate

After reading the Herald, it reminded me of

- Delrio's stupid comments of spearing, and the communication issuie...

- The Spicer comments

And now im more than ever convinced we will be up 24-0 by halftime.. Not concerned at all at this game, only the weather could stop us now...:rocker:

Re: Spicer's comments on Pats/camergate

I didn't think this would go national...wrong. They were just talking about it on Mike and Mike. Commenting on how this will be hung up everywhere and how this team feeds on it.

Re: Spicer's comments on Pats/camergate

Pretty poor choice by the Jags if they did that, and especially if they let it stand for more than 24 hours. Very, very poor choice.

Re: Spicer's comments on Pats/camergate

Obviously you have no idea about what motivates the Pats. They resent people impugning their reputation and take its personally.

Re: Spicer's comments on Pats/camergate

It's pretty pathetic that you think your team needs bulletin board material and needs to be disrespected to have any sort of motivation to play well at all. I'm pretty sure it has absolutely 0 effect on the outcome of the game.

It's pretty pathetic that you ASSume we think they need to be disrespected to have any motivation. This team will kick any teams ass no matter what. They just enjoy it more when someone makes it personal for them.
You need to pull your head out of your ass.

The JAGS website is an official arm of the team.
I wonder whta the Krafts would think about this asterisk on the official NFL nwebsite.
He should talk to Goodell and Weaver about this crap.

It is one thing for a rag like the NY post to have it, but the JAGS official website?

I do not remember the official NFL decision referring to cheating?

Oy, nobody gets this team. They don't NEED bulletin board material, but when they get it, they use it. They go out of their way to humiliate the moron who said it.

I'll never understand why players can't shut their mouths. The Colts have learned this (except the Saint), they never say anything about anyone and go out of their way to praise people. It cracks me up when people say the Pats are a classless bunch, find me a quote where they said anything about anyone prior to a game.

The list of names is getting longer of idiots who said something stupid and fades off into obscurity. The support group is getting bigger.

Re: Spicer's comments on Pats/camergate

This could be like the Miami game where the Pats go up big in the first half and just **** around for the remaining 30 minutes. :D
