Meriweather starting to Deliver the Goods

Excerpts...

"He still brings us doughnuts and coffee, so he's still a rookie in that sense," said veteran safety Rodney Harrison. "But he's no longer a rookie. He's out there playing football. But he'd better continue with the Dunkin' Donuts or else he'll get tied up."

"I can't even begin to explain the ways; he did a lot for me," said Meriweather. "Me and Bill, we meet a lot, actually. We go over things - little extra things - that I needed, things to look for, keys to look for, all the little things I needed as a rookie. He helped me out with those things."
---

Hoping he becomes a playmaker that's so important from the Safety position.

Been noticing more and more of him as the season progresses, hard hitter and plays with an attitude.. he is coming onto his own when he is needed.

rodney is a good roll model. he plays mean:mad: meriweather shows promise.hope he finds the patriot way:rocker:

You guys, and Rodney, must not have heard...Meriweather is a bust.

I still have very high hopes for the youngster.

I like what I have seen of Meriweather. He's seen the field more, hits hard, and finds a way to be in the right place at the right time. (Now if he can only find his hands when balls are thrown at him.)

Hmmm...Meriweather is coming into his own, Maroney has looked good in a featured back role...maybe BB/Piolo haven't lost their draft mojo after all.

Frankly I'm shocked.... are you telling me that Coach Bill and the team are better able to determine who's a bust and who's not then people on this board?

Shocking!

From the article:

"Above all, Meriweather offered the Patriots a tantalizing mix of size, speed, talent, and athleticism."

Gosh, do you think the Patriots were more "tantalized" by his 5'10" 195-lb size or his 4.47 speed? Mr. Reporter Friend, that's some weak work.

But anyway...it surely was nice to see #31 all over the field against the Giants. He seems to have Rodney-like intensity. If he can maintain that energy level while stepping up the discipline, he could be a force.

Still not all that impressed with Meriweather. Still haven't given up on him though. Making a handful of plays coming off the bench late in the season isn't what I am looking for in a first round pick. His rookie season was a bust, but he isn't.......... yet.

IMO all you can look for in a rookie is progress. The Meriweather we saw last weekend was a far different one than we saw in September; now he looks like he's trying to make plays rather than not trying to make mistakes.

Obviously he needs to continue to progress, but to me he definitely looks to be trending upwards.

Wait til Chad Jackson and Dave Thomas light it up next season.
